In a chilling incident from Etah’s Malawan area, police recovered the dismembered body of a 50-year-old man, Jujhar Singh, from a trunk inside his neighbour’s house. Singh had been reported missing by his family since Sunday evening. Acting on leads from his mobile phone’s location, police made the grim discovery on Monday.

Neighbour’s House Under Scrutiny

The investigation gained momentum after the police put Jujhar Singh’s mobile phone on surveillance. The signal led authorities directly to the residence of Indrapal Singh, a neighbour living just a few houses away. Upon searching the premises, police found Singh’s mutilated remains stuffed inside a large trunk, sparking panic in the locality.

Police Conduct Raid; Suspects Flee

As word spread, a large crowd gathered at the scene. Amid the commotion, Indrapal Singh and his family managed to escape. Law enforcement officials, including Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shyam Narayan Singh, visited the location and ordered stringent action in the case. A forensic team was deployed to collect evidence.

Circle Officer (Sakeet), Kirtika Singh, confirmed the body’s discovery and said CCTV footage from the vicinity is being examined to trace the suspects. While a formal complaint from the family is awaited, the police have launched a manhunt and are working to uncover the motive behind the gruesome killing.

Postmortem and Forensic Probe Initiated

The body has been sent for postmortem, and a forensic examination of the scene is ongoing. Authorities are urging the public to come forward with any information related to the case as efforts continue to locate the absconding suspects and bring justice to the victim.
