UGC NET Results Released, Some Candidates Encounter Access Issues

The CSR Journal Magazine

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the UGC NET June 2026 results for 84 subjects as of the evening of August 28, 2026. However, not all candidates are able to access their scorecards due to the circumstances surrounding specific subjects. The affected candidates are those who appeared for examinations in English, Commerce, and Sociology, as their tests are scheduled to be re-conducted in September.

Candidates from these three subjects have been instructed to wait to access their results, as they would encounter an “Invalid Application Number/Password” message when attempting to log into the official UGC NET website. The NTA has sought to clarify this situation to alleviate any confusion among candidates.

Reasons for Access Issues

The NTA has confirmed that the issue primarily impacts candidates from the English, Commerce, and Sociology subjects. Their UGC NET June 2026 examinations are set to take place on September 9 and 10, 2026. Given that these examinations have not yet occurred, the results and corresponding scorecards for these subjects remain unavailable.

The agency has advised these candidates that the “Invalid Application Number/Password” message should not be interpreted as a sign of issues with their login details. This is a standard procedure, as the results for these subjects are withheld until the re-examinations are finalised. The NTA assures that the results will be properly processed and released following the assessments.

Meanwhile, candidates from the other 84 subjects can access their scorecards, having now officially been made available on the UGC NET website. These candidates are encouraged to log in using their application details to retrieve their scores without any hindrance.

Next Steps for Affected Candidates

Candidates who have taken the tests in English, Commerce, and Sociology should prepare for the upcoming re-examinations scheduled for September 9 and 10. They are urged to frequently check the official UGC NET website for updates regarding their results and further announcements from the NTA.

The NTA has explicitly mentioned that the scorecards for the subjects undergoing re-examination will not be available until after these exams take place. This announcement serves as guidance for the candidates, ensuring they are aware of the timeline and need for patience in accessing their scorecards.

For candidates who are not affected and whose subjects are included in the latest results, they can successfully log in to the UGC NET portal to download and print their respective scorecards. This process has been smooth for those who fall outside the categories of English, Commerce, and Sociology, thereby allowing them to proceed with their application or further studies without any delays.
