Police have opened three separate investigations following a major dispute at the Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute (SRFTI) on Sunday afternoon. The complaints were filed by a visiting organization, the police, and the film institute’s management.

1. Complaint by Visiting Group

Advocate Anjan Sinha from Akhil Bhartiya Grahak Panchayat alleged that when his team arrived on campus for an event, a group of SRFTI students trapped them in a hall. He reported that the students hit them, threatened them, insulted female members, and damaged banners and religious images of Bharat Mata, Maa Durga, and Swami Vivekananda.

2. Complaint by Police

Inspector Koushick Bose reported that students stopped police officers from doing their job, physically pushed them, and broke the window of an official police vehicle.

3. Complaint by SRFTI Management

Sukanta Majumder, Dean of SRFTI, filed a counter-complaint stating that unknown outsiders entered the campus, trapped students and two teachers, attacked them, insulted female students, and threatened them.

Panchasayar Police Station has assigned three separate officers to investigate all claims.
