Python Rescued from Girls’ Hostel Bathroom in Madhya Pradesh

The CSR Journal Magazine

The discovery of a python estimated to be 10 feet long in the bathroom of a girls’ hostel in the Tili area of Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, caused widespread panic. Students were startled by the sudden appearance of the large snake, leading them to immediately alert the management of the hostel. This alarming incident caught the attention of both residents and local authorities.

Upon receiving the information regarding the incident, snake catcher Aqeel Baba promptly arrived at the hostel. The atmosphere within the hostel was tense as students awaited the outcome of the situation. After assessing the circumstances, Aqeel Baba initiated the rescue operation within the bathroom where the python was located.

Successful Rescue Operation Conducted by Snake Catcher

During the rescue attempt, Aqeel Baba faced some challenges but ultimately succeeded in capturing the python safely. This operation provided a sense of relief for both the students and the hostel staff. Witnesses reported that many onlookers had gathered around the hostel during the rescue, expressing astonishment at the size of the python.

Aqeel Baba stated that the students came across the python when they entered the bathroom. Their timely alert enabled a swift response, which was crucial in ensuring the snake could be rescued without harm. The creature was carefully extracted from the area where students had been hesitant to approach moments earlier.

Following the successful capture, preparations began for the safe relocation of the 10-foot python. The snake catcher mentioned that the Tili region is close to a hilly area, making it a habitat for various snakes, including pythons. As a result, it is not uncommon for these reptiles to stray into residential areas in search of shelter, particularly during the monsoon season.

Importance of Professional Help in Snake Encounters

Aqeel Baba has had considerable experience in the area, having rescued an estimated 70 to 75 pythons previously. He noted that all previous captures have been executed with care and in collaboration with officials from the Forest Department to ensure the snakes are released back into their natural habitat.

The snake catcher urged local residents not to attempt to catch or harm any snakes seen in homes, hostels, or other residential areas. Instead, he emphasized the importance of notifying a trained professional or relevant authorities immediately. This approach not only ensures the safety of humans but also protects the snakes from harm.

The incident at the girls’ hostel has attracted considerable attention from the local community, with discussions surrounding the unusual circumstances and the effective handling of the situation. Fortunately, a potential crisis was averted thanks to the prompt actions of the students and the expertise of Aqeel Baba.

As preparations continue to release the rescued python, the successful operation has highlighted the need for awareness regarding wildlife interactions, particularly in regions prone to such encounters. The swift response not only saved the python but also provided peace of mind to the hostel community.
