Pune Tragedy: 16-Year-Old Student Fatally Stabbed by Classmate in Coaching Centre

A shocking incident shook Rajgurunagar town in Pune district on Monday morning, when a 16-year-old boy was killed after being attacked by a fellow Class 10 student inside a private coaching centre. Police say the attack may have stemmed from a dispute between the two teenagers that occurred a couple of months ago.

The incident took place around 9 am in a classroom at a coaching centre in Khed taluka, approximately 45 km from Pune. According to initial reports, the session was underway when the accused student suddenly pulled out a knife and attacked his classmate. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

“A boy, who was carrying a knife, suddenly attacked a classmate inside a classroom at the coaching centre on Monday morning. The injured boy was rushed to the hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries. A process is on to detain the accused boy,” an official from Khed police station said.

Both Families Notified, Accused to Be Detained

Police have confirmed that both students involved have been identified, and their families have been informed. “Both students have been identified and their families have been notified of the incident. The process to detain the accused student is currently on,” an officer added.

Authorities are investigating the background of the attack. Officials revealed that the two students had a disagreement about two months ago, which may have triggered Monday’s tragedy. “Initial probe suggests that the class was in progress when the 16-year-old boy attacked the fellow student. Investigation indicates that the two had a dispute around two months ago, and the attack was a fallout of that,” said a police officer.

Police continue to probe the incident to uncover the precise motive behind the attack. “We are probing the exact reason behind the attack,” the official said.
