iPhone 16 Available For Under Rs 59,000 In Flipkart Sale: Should You Buy It?

The CSR Journal Magazine

Apple’s iPhone 16 has received a substantial price cut during Flipkart’s Goat Sale, making the smartphone available at an effective price of Rs 58,900 with select bank offers. The discount has renewed interest in the device, which was among India’s best-selling smartphones following its launch in 2024.

While newer models have since entered the market, the iPhone 16 continues to offer a strong combination of performance, camera capabilities and battery life. However, some ageing hardware choices may give prospective buyers reason to consider alternatives.

iPhone 16 Available At Significant Discount

During the ongoing Flipkart Goat Sale, the 128GB variant of the iPhone 16 is listed at Rs 62,900. Buyers can further reduce the price by up to Rs 4,000 through eligible bank offers, bringing the effective cost down to Rs 58,900.

The smartphone was originally launched in India at Rs 79,900, meaning the current deal represents a discount of more than Rs 20,000. Additional savings may also be available through exchange offers, depending on the condition and model of the device being traded in.

Performance Remains A Strong Selling Point

One of the iPhone 16’s biggest strengths continues to be its performance. The device is powered by Apple’s A18 chipset, which remains capable of handling demanding workloads despite being two years old.

The processor delivers smooth multitasking and remains well-suited for gaming. Resource-intensive titles such as BGMI can be played for extended periods without significant heating issues, making the device competitive with many current-generation smartphones in its price segment.

Even in 2026, the iPhone 16 continues to offer flagship-level performance that should comfortably meet the needs of most users.

Cameras And Battery Continue To Impress

The smartphone features a dual rear camera system comprising a 48-megapixel primary sensor and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera.

The main camera is capable of producing detailed images with good dynamic range, while low-light photography remains a strong area. The ultra-wide sensor also delivers reliable results, making the device a suitable option for users who frequently share photos on social media.

However, the phone lacks a dedicated telephoto lens, a feature available on some competing flagship Android devices. It also misses some of the newer camera enhancements introduced in subsequent iPhone generations.

Battery life remains another major advantage. Equipped with a 3,561mAh battery, the iPhone 16 is capable of lasting a full day and often longer under typical usage conditions.

While endurance is impressive, charging speeds continue to lag behind several Android rivals, many of which now offer significantly faster wired charging technologies.

Display May Be A Dealbreaker For Some Buyers

The biggest drawback of the iPhone 16 is its display refresh rate. Although the 6.1-inch OLED screen offers vibrant colours and high brightness levels, it remains limited to a 60Hz refresh rate.

Users upgrading from modern Android smartphones equipped with 90Hz or 120Hz displays may immediately notice the difference in scrolling and animation smoothness.

Buyers seeking a higher refresh rate display may find better value in newer devices such as the iPhone 17, which includes Apple’s ProMotion technology, or in competing Android smartphones available in a similar price range.

For users prioritising performance, battery life and camera quality, the iPhone 16 remains a compelling option at its discounted price. However, those who consider a high-refresh-rate display essential may prefer to explore newer alternatives before making a purchase.
