Father Throws Axe to Scare Monkeys, Accidentally Slashes Two-Year-Old Son’s Neck

A very tragic incident took place on Tuesday morning in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh. Here, a two-year-old boy named Aarav died after being struck by an axe. The axe was reportedly thrown by his own father, Lakhan Singh.

According to reports, the father threw the axe from the roof to chase away a group of monkeys. The monkeys had entered the house while tiny Aarav was playing inside. However, tragedy struck when, the axe instead of hitting the monkeys, accidentally hit Aarav’s neck. The injury was so severe that the toddler died on the spot.

Blood Stains at Scene

Hearing Aarav’s scream the other family members present in the house rushed on the spot. All witnessed blood splatters on the walls of a washroom in the courtyard where the accident occurred.

The family rushed Aarav to a nearby hospital. However, upon arrival, the doctors declared him dead. The toddler was buried in a hurry without even notifying the police. This led to suspicion among relatives and other family members .

Brother-in-Law alleges Murder

The situation took a drastic turn when Jitendra Singh, the brother of Lakhan’s wife Anita made serious allegations. He alleged that Aarav’s death was not an accident but a murder. He claimed Lakhan had a violent fight with Anita the previous night. He also stated that during the fight he beat and locked her in a room.

He further stated that the argument resumed the next morning. Jitendra said Aarav was in his grandfather’s lap when Lakhan grabbed the boy, picked up an axe, and struck him, possibly to threaten his wife. Jitendra added that Lakhan frequently abused Anita.

According to reports, Jitendra said, “Lakhan had a fight with Anita on Monday night when he locked her in the room and beat her up. The argument subsided at night, but on Tuesday morning, it ignited again. While the spouses were fighting, Aarav was in his grandfather Ramchandra’s lap. During the fight, Lakhan snatched Aarav, picked up an axe, and killed him”.

Iron Rod Dropped by Monkeys?

In addition to these two versions of the story, another perspective has come to light. A local panchayat member Jagat Singh Saini, a relative of Lakhan stated a different story. He said the child was injured when monkeys dislodged iron rods left on the roof after recent tent work. One of the rods reportedly struck Aarav’s head, causing the injury that led to his death.

“The tent work was recently done at Lakhan’s house, after which iron rods were kept on the roof. A group of monkeys dropped them, which hit the child’s head, and he started bleeding. He was taken for treatment, but he was declared dead,” Saini said as reported by NDTV.

‘An Accident’ says Police

However, despite conflicting stories and family accusations, police are treating the case as an accident. Investigations are ongoing to clarify the exact circumstances behind Aarav’s death.
