Delhi Government Withdraws Work-From-Home Arrangement For Employees

The Delhi government has withdrawn the work-from-home (WFH) arrangement and staggered office timings that had been in place for its employees, citing an improvement in the geopolitical situation in West Asia.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta approved the rollback on Saturday, bringing an end to measures that were introduced earlier this year as part of an energy conservation initiative.

Government Ends Earlier Conservation Measures

The work-from-home policy and staggered office schedules had been implemented to support energy-saving efforts amid concerns linked to developments in West Asia and their potential impact on energy resources.

With the situation now stabilising, the Delhi government has decided that the special arrangements are no longer required.

Announcing the decision, the Chief Minister’s Office said the circumstances that prompted the measures had largely eased.

Chief Minister Approves Rollback

“Now that the geopolitical situation has practically normalised, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has approved withdrawal of Work from Home on Wednesdays and Saturdays,” the Chief Minister’s Office said in a statement.

The decision means government employees who were working remotely on designated days will now return to regular office attendance schedules.

The withdrawal of the WFH arrangement also marks the end of the staggered timing system that had been introduced alongside the energy conservation measures.

The Delhi government’s move follows an assessment that conditions linked to the earlier policy have improved sufficiently to allow a return to normal workplace operations across departments.
