Two Terrorists Neutralised in Kishtwar During Operation Trashi-I

The CSR Journal Magazine

In a significant development regarding the ongoing anti-terror operations in Jammu and Kashmir, two terrorists were killed during a coordinated effort by security forces in the Kishtwar district on Sunday. This operation took place under the banner of Operation Trashi-I, as confirmed by the Indian Army’s Jammu-based White Knight Corps. An encounter commenced earlier when security personnel engaged with the terrorists in the challenging terrain of Kishtwar.

Intelligence-Led Operation Targets Terrorist Presence

According to the White Knight Corps, actionable intelligence was obtained from various sources, including the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the Intelligence Bureau, and the Army’s own intelligence assets regarding the terrorists’ activities in the dense forests of the Chatroo area. Following these credible inputs, a carefully planned joint operation was initiated in the Kishtwar region under Operation Trashi-I to locate and neutralise the identified terrorists.

Contact Established with Terrorists at 11 AM

Security forces re-established contact with the terrorists around 11:00 AM in the difficult terrain, where troops from the Counter-Insurgency Force Delta, in close cooperation with the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Central Reserve Police Force, engaged the terrorists once again. During this firefight, security personnel managed to gain control over the encounter site and successfully neutralised the two terrorists. Authorities recovered weapons from the scene, which included two AK-47 rifles and additional military equipment.

Operation Trashi-I Focuses on Challenging Terrain

Operation Trashi-I, which began in January, is primarily concentrated in the forested and mountainous regions of Kishtwar, including areas like Chatroo, Sonnar, Dolgam, and Dichhar. This operation has involved a series of cordon and search missions as well as firefights aimed at disrupting terrorist activities. Security forces are currently continuing their search operations in the Kishtwar area to ensure that no hostile elements remain unaccounted for.

Ongoing Commitment to Maintain Peace

The White Knight Corps emphasized its determination in the ongoing operations, stating that those who aim to disrupt peace in the region will not find sanctuary. Further details regarding the operation and its outcomes are anticipated as security efforts continue in the area.
