Two Arrested in Jaipur for Using Fake Medical Degrees

The CSR Journal Magazine

The Rajasthan Special Operations Group (SOG) has apprehended two individuals accused of utilising forged medical qualifications to gain registration with the Rajasthan Medical Council. The arrested men are Pankaj Yadav, a resident of Sikar, and Nanjiram Chaudhary from Jalore district. The investigation into their activities has revealed that Yadav allegedly submitted a counterfeit MBBS degree after failing to pass the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE), while Chaudhary, who has only completed education up to Class 8, presented falsified documents claiming medical qualifications.

Investigation Findings

According to SOG Additional Director General Vishal Bansal, Yadav claimed to have studied MBBS in Kazakhstan from 2013 to 2018. Following his studies, he reportedly attempted the FMGE approximately six times but did not succeed in clearing the examination. Allegations suggest that Yadav subsequently procured a fake MBBS degree and marksheets purportedly from a medical college in Bihar. These fraudulent documents were used to secure registration with the Rajasthan Medical Council.

The fraudulent activities came to light when the authorities conducted a verification of Yadav’s educational credentials with the relevant institutions. Investigators found no record of his enrolment at Sri Krishna Medical College in Muzaffarpur. Aryabhatta Knowledge University in Patna also confirmed that the degree and marksheets presented by Yadav were indeed forged. The SOG arrested him in Kaithal, Haryana, where he was located during the investigation.

In addition to Yadav, the investigation has also revealed irregularities concerning Chaudhary. He allegedly submitted documents indicating he possessed a diploma in gynaecology and obstetrics from the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Mumbai. However, during the verification process, authorities discovered that his diploma certificate, allotment letter, passing certificate, and attestation certificate were all forged. Chaudhary’s educational background was found to be limited to only Class 8.

Despite his limited education, Chaudhary submitted marksheets for Classes 10 and 12, alongside an MBBS degree and documents claiming a diploma in gynaecology. The investigation has also traced Chaudhary’s work history, revealing that he initially worked at a private doctor’s clinic, where he was responsible for issuing patient slips at the outpatient department (OPD) counter. He subsequently transitioned to a garment shop before engaging in work associated with a hospital.

Legal Proceedings and Future Investigations

In 2015, Chaudhary acquired a hospital and renamed it Bhaskar Hospital in 2016, further complicating the case. The SOG has indicated that the case originated from a report submitted by the Rajasthan Medical Council. Following this report, a case was registered at the Ashok Nagar police station in Jaipur on October 6, 2024. The initial complaint implicated eight individuals.

As the investigation unfolds, authorities have submitted an additional report concerning Chaudhary’s activities. The SOG is currently interrogating both accused individuals and is examining the possibility of further involvement by other parties in the use of forged medical qualifications and documents. The situation continues to develop as investigators seek to uncover the full extent of the fraudulent activities.
