Son Strangles Father in Karnataka, Tries to Fake Electrocution

A shocking case of patricide has emerged from Tumakuru district in Karnataka, where a man allegedly murdered his father and attempted to disguise the crime as an accidental electrocution. The incident occurred in the early hours of May 11 inside the Apollo Ice Cream Factory.

Surveillance footage from around 1:45 am revealed a heated argument between the accused, Surya, and his father, 55-year-old Nagesh. The disagreement quickly turned physical, with Nagesh slapping Surya and striking him with a slipper. Nagesh then picked up a stick to continue the assault, while Surya, who had been holding a white cloth, appeared to defend himself.

As the altercation escalated, the situation took a deadly turn. When Nagesh turned away, Surya seized the opportunity to wrap the cloth around his father’s neck, forcing him to the ground and strangling him. The CCTV footage also shows another man, believed to be Surya’s associate, stepping in to help ensure Nagesh was dead.

How the Accused Fabricated the Crime?

In an apparent attempt to mislead investigators, the two allegedly laid the body on a bed and applied an electric current to Nagesh’s fingers to simulate an accidental electrocution. The deception initially seemed to work.

However, suspicion arose when Nagesh’s sister, Savitha, noticed inconsistencies and reported her concerns to the police. Her complaint prompted authorities to re-examine the case in greater detail.

Upon reviewing the factory’s CCTV recordings, police confirmed that the death was not accidental. Surya was subsequently arrested, and efforts are underway to identify and apprehend his accomplice. Investigators are now working to determine the motive behind the murder and whether ongoing family tensions may have played a role.
