Booton Chaudhary, the notorious criminal of Bihar and area commander of Ranvir Sena, finally got caught by STF. Bihar STF caught him from Mumbai, Maharashtra. A reward of two lakh rupees was declared on it. The arrest of Booton Chaudhary has once again created a sensation in Belaur Panchayat and its surrounding area. More than five serious criminal cases have been registered against Booton Chaudhary. Bhojpur SP Raj has confirmed this.
Booton was synonymous with panic
His name in Ara and surrounding areas had become synonymous with panic. According to villagers, from panchayat elections to mutual disputes, Booton often tried to establish dominance on the strength of weapons. Three months ago, Booton Chaudhary came out of jail in the murder of BDC member Deepak Sah. In 2016 too, Booton Chaudhary was caught with AK-47 and pistol. At that time, he had openly demonstrated arms to show dominance in the panchayat elections. In that case, the court sentenced Booton to seven years and Upendra, another Ranvir Sena leader was sentenced to three years imprisonment.
Two lakh reward on Booton
The police headquarters had declared a reward of 2 lakh against him after Booton Chaudhary was constantly absconding and being found involved in several incidents. The STF team arrested him in Mumbai on secret information. At the same time, Bhojpur police raided Belaur village and recovered a cache of weapons from his house. An FIR has been registered against Booton Chaudhary and his brother Upendra. Both have many serious allegations like murder, firing and keeping illegal weapons. Police say that now “weapon and terror politics” will be eliminated from Belaur Panchayat and the surrounding area.
What is Ranvir Sena?
The Ranvir Sena was formed in 1994 under the leadership of Brahmeshwar Singh. A Right-wing upper-caste landlord militia based in Bihar, the group is reportedly carried out actions against Dalits and other members of the scheduled caste community as well as Naxalites.
The Sena has been connected to many murders, rapes and thefts. The Ranvir Sena is regarded as a terrorist group and classified accordingly by the Government of India. Normally, the Ranvir Sena say themselves that they committed their crimes.
The Ranvir Sena has committed violent acts against Naxalite sympathisers and other members of the militant communist party. The Bihar State government banned the Ranvir Sena in July 1995 and since then the Ranvir Sena remains proscribed.
