The fourth season of Netflix’s popular series Mismatched has officially started production, featuring actors Prajakta Koli and Rohit Saraf. This announcement was made by Netflix on July 7, 2026, alongside a brief video shared across social media platforms. The teaser included a playful reference to the show’s fan-favourite pairing of Dimple and Rishi.

This upcoming season will mark the conclusion of the series, which has garnered a dedicated following since its premiere. The narrative will continue from where the third season left off, focusing on the evolving relationship between Dimple Ahuja and Rishi Singh Shekhawat, who had decided to pause their engagement to prioritise their professional ambitions.

Synopsis and Previous Seasons Recap

Mismatched is adapted from Sandhya Menon’s novel When Dimple Met Rishi, which was published in 2017. The series first debuted on November 20, 2020, captivating audiences with its coming-of-age storyline. Following positive reception, it was renewed for a second season, which premiered on October 14, 2022, after being announced on March 3 of the same year.

Season 2 explored Dimple’s guilt following the kiss and her desire to reconcile with Rishi. Their encounters often mirrored pivotal moments from their past, like a coffee spill reminiscent of their initial meeting. As they navigated through their respective challenges and explored relationships with others, they ultimately recognised their feelings for each other. The third season concluded dramatically with the couple deciding to focus on their careers rather than rushing into marriage.

Cast and Production Details

Returning cast members for the final season include several familiar faces such as Ranvijay Singh, Vidya Malvade, Vihaan Samat, Devyani Shorey, Priya Banerjee, Taaruk Raina, Muskkaan Jaferi, and Ahsaas Channa. This combination of talent aims to bring forth a mix of nostalgia and new elements, promising an engaging experience for viewers.

Prajakta Koli expressed her emotions regarding the final season, stating that returning to the set feels deeply sentimental. She remarked on how significant Dimple has been throughout her journey and conveyed her gratitude for the opportunity to narrate the final chapter of her story on Netflix. Prajakta highlighted her eagerness for the audience to discover what the creative team has prepared for them.

Rohit Saraf shared similar sentiments about the series, indicating that his time on Mismatched has produced cherished memories. He mentioned how returning to the character of Rishi and working with the original team feels magical, enhancing the anticipation for the concluding season.
