PM Modi Sends Eid Greetings to Kuwait Crown Prince and Calls for Safety in Strait of Hormuz

On March 18, Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in a telephonic discussion with Crown Prince Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah of Kuwait, during which he extended greetings for the upcoming Eid festival. The leaders discussed various aspects of the changing geopolitical landscape in West Asia, underlining mutual concerns regarding recent events in the region.

Concerns Over Regional Developments

In a message shared on X, PM Modi referred to the conversation, highlighting their shared apprehension over the evolving situation. He underscored India’s firm stance against any violations of Kuwait’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Modi emphasized the importance of maintaining safe and unrestricted navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, describing it as a primary concern for India.

Support for the Indian Community in Kuwait

During the dialogue, PM Modi expressed gratitude to Crown Prince Sabah for his ongoing support for the Indian community residing in Kuwait. The Prime Minister acknowledged the significance of continuous diplomatic efforts to uphold regional peace and stability, reinforcing the bilateral relationship between India and Kuwait.

Operational Consular Services Amid Ramadan

On March 17, the Indian Embassy in Kuwait announced the continuity of its consular services throughout the holy month of Ramadan. All four Indian Consular Application Centres (ICACs) in Kuwait will remain operational, adapting their working hours to facilitate Indian nationals. These centers will function from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM to ensure uninterrupted assistance during this period.

Locations of Indian Consular Application Centres

The embassy provided details regarding the locations of its ICACs. In Kuwait City, services are available on the third floor of Al Jawhara Tower, situated in the same building as Indigo Airlines on Ali Al Salem Street. In Jleeb Al Shouyakh, Indian nationals can access consular services on the M Floor of the Nesto Hypermarket Building, which was formerly known as Old Olive Hypermarket. The Fahahheel ICAC is located on the M Floor of the Al Anoud Shopping Complex on Mekka Street. Additionally, in Jahra, consular services are offered at Al Khalifa Building, specifically on the second floor, in Office numbers 3 and 14, Block 93.
