In a heroic act that saved many lives, a railway staff member of London North Eastern Railway (LNER) risked his own life to protect train passengers from a knifeman. The railway worker is severely injured and is currently battling for his life in hospital.
A horrific multiple stabbing incident occurred on a train heading towards Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire on Saturday evening, sending shockwaves across the UK. The attack took place aboard the 6:25 pm Doncaster–London King’s Cross service, prompting a swift response from the British Transport Police and Cambridgeshire Police, who have arrested two suspects.
Eleven people were treated in hospital after the attack. On Sunday evening, British Transport Police (BTP) confirmed five casualties had been discharged as per a BBC report. A major incident has been declared, and counter-terrorism officers are assisting in the ongoing investigation. Police are urging the public to remain calm while they determine the motive behind the attack.
Chief Superintendent Chris Casey described the event as “shocking,” adding that it’s too early to speculate on causes. No fatalities have been reported so far, but the situation remains critical as investigations continue.

The incident took place on Saturday night. A passenger train was going from Doncaster to London King’s Cross. Two attackers suddenly attacked inside the train near Cambridgeshire with knives. Several passengers fell inside the train, bleeding in the random attack. Panic gripped passengers and the train was stopped at Huntingdon station. After that, the police arrested the two suspects. The injured were rescued and admitted to a nearby hospital. Five people were discharged in the evening.

It is learnt that the railway worker stood as a shield in front of the knife to stop the mad attacker. To save the lives of the passengers, he let himself be stabbed in the chest. As a result, he is now fighting with death in the hospital. The British Transport Police has informed that the picture of the bravery of the worker has been seen from the CCTV footage.
“Having viewed the CCTV from the train, the actions of the member of rail staff were nothing short of heroic and undoubtedly saved people’s lives,” a spokesman from the British Transport Police said.
However, he himself is on his deathbed. Everyone is praying for his speedy recovery.
