A weekend meant for celebration turned chaotic for cricketer Smriti Mandhana and filmmaker-composer Palaash Muchhal after their wedding, planned for November 23 in Sangli, Maharashtra, was suddenly postponed. Reports suggest the delay was caused by Mandhana’s father, Shriniwas Mandhana, being hospitalised with heart attack-like symptoms.

Shortly after, Muchhal was also admitted to a hospital in Sangli and later moved to Mumbai due to a sudden health scare. Meanwhile, social media users noticed that Mandhana had removed several posts from her Instagram, including engagement photos and a proposal video, sparking speculation.

The situation intensified when alleged screenshots of private chats between Muchhal and a woman identified online as Mary D’Costa went viral. The screenshots, dated May 2025, appear to show Muchhal complimenting the woman and inviting her to outings, including swimming, a spa visit, and an early-morning trip to Versova Beach, while being evasive about his relationship with Mandhana.

“The respondent (Muchhal) is alleged to have engaged in flirtatious communication, but there is no official confirmation regarding the veracity of these conversations,” clarified BollywoodLife.

The online reaction has been polarised. Many condemned Muchhal’s supposed behaviour, while others cautioned against harassment or assuming the chats are authentic. “Critics slammed Palaash for reportedly engaging in questionable behaviour so close to his wedding. Others urged caution, pointing out that the screenshots remain unverified and stressing that both families are already dealing with sensitive personal matters,” noted social media observers.

Palaash Muchhal’s sister, singer Palak Muchhal, had earlier confirmed the wedding’s postponement. The couple’s nuptials, highly anticipated by fans, now remain on hold, and neither Mandhana nor Muchhal has made any public statement regarding the viral screenshots or the postponed ceremony.
