A very shocking incident has come to light from Bihar’s Bettiah district. A one-year-old child named Govinda bit a cobra to death after it reportedly coiled around his hand. The incident occurred while he was playing outside his house. The snake is believed to have slithered too close, triggering an instinctive reaction in the infant.

Reflex Action Turns Deadly for the Snake

According to eyewitnesses present on the scene, the child grabbed the snake and bit it hard. The pressure killed the venomous reptile instantly. Locals say the snake may have agitated the child, leading to the rare and unexpected response. However, soon after the encounter, the child lost consciousness.

Mateshwari Devi, the child’s grandmother, said Govinda’s mother was nearby collecting firewood when the snake appeared. “The snake came out, and the child hit it with something and then bit and killed it. It was a gehuaan (cobra). The child is just one year old,” she said.

Rushed to Hospital as Condition Worsened

Govinda was initially taken to the nearby Primary Health Centre (PHC) for emergency care. As his condition deteriorated, he was referred to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Bettiah. The child received further treatment at this Hospital.

Doctors at GMCH have confirmed that the child is now stable and being closely monitored.
