Adani Foundation at Ambuja Cements Guna Improves Learning Infrastructure to Create Better Classrooms

Ambuja Cements, the world’s ninth-largest building materials solutions provider and a key company within the diversified Adani Portfolio, has taken a significant step toward improving the quality of education in rural Madhya Pradesh. Through a focused community development initiative in Mavan village of Guna district, the company has strengthened basic infrastructure in government schools, creating a more supportive and conducive learning environment for students.

In many rural schools, the lack of essential classroom furniture remains a major challenge, directly affecting students’ comfort, concentration, and overall academic experience. Recognising this gap, Ambuja Cements, in collaboration with the Adani Foundation, addressed the issue by providing much-needed desks and benches to local educational institutions. The initiative focused on the government high school and the government Kanya Shala in Mavan village, where students had earlier been forced to sit on the floor during classes.

As part of the intervention, a total of 74 desks and benches were distributed to the two schools, benefiting nearly 200 students. This simple yet impactful addition has transformed the classroom experience, enabling children to sit comfortably, maintain proper posture, and engage more effectively in their studies. The availability of structured seating has also helped create a more organised and disciplined classroom setting, improving the overall teaching–learning process.

The impact of the initiative was visible almost immediately. Teachers reported a noticeable improvement in student attentiveness and classroom behaviour, as students were better able to focus on lessons without physical discomfort. Increased engagement, participation, and enthusiasm among students were also observed, reflecting how improved infrastructure can positively influence learning outcomes.

This effort underscores Ambuja Cements’ broader commitment to social responsibility and inclusive development. By addressing foundational issues in education infrastructure, the company aims to strengthen access to quality education in underserved and rural communities. The initiative aligns with Ambuja Cements’ long-term vision of supporting sustainable community development, where education serves as a key driver of social and economic progress.
