A resident of Haryana, Pradeep Sangwan, is attracting attention online for his dedication to cleaning up waste across the Himalayan region. His efforts were highlighted in a video that recently went viral, showing him actively collecting litter in picturesque yet polluted areas. The footage, shared on X by Nikhil Saini, showcases the relentless passion Sangwan has for preserving nature, promoting his mission one bag of trash at a time.

Sangwan is the driving force behind Healing Himalayas, an initiative aimed at conducting clean-up drives throughout the mountainous regions of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The video depicts his journey through remote trails, open fields, sparkling riverbanks, and serene lakes, all while he diligently picks up discarded items left by visitors.

In the video, he is captured equipped with large sacks, collecting everything from plastic bottles to wrappers and various forms of non-biodegradable waste that detract from the natural beauty of the landscape. His straightforward message, “Mother nature is my employer,” encapsulates the essence of his mission to restore and protect the environment.

Social Media Response Highlights Support for Environmental Initiatives

The comedic tone of the post accompanying the video, while lighthearted, illustrated a genuine respect for Sangwan’s work. Saini humorously referred to him as an “absolute menace to the garbage industry,” as he continues to venture into remote areas, eradicating litter that spoils the environment.

The playful sarcasm emphasised Sangwan’s determination. Despite removing significant quantities of plastic waste from these mountains, the post quizzically suggested why he seems so unnerved by litter that others have casually disturbed. Critics of littering took the opportunity to highlight that responsible tourism could greatly benefit natural spaces.

Comments from social media users reflected widespread admiration for Sangwan’s initiative. Many emphasised that every visitor to mountainous areas should share the responsibility of keeping such environments clean. Suggestions circulated that simple actions, such as carrying back one piece of rubbish, could generate substantial positive change when adopted collectively by travellers.

Sangwan’s Legacy and the Impact of His Work

Numerous users expressed private sentiments about Sangwan, commending him for his kindness and dedication to the cause. His unwavering commitment and hard work over the years have not gone unnoticed, with many suggesting that his efforts are a beacon of hope amidst larger environmental challenges.

Such grassroots movements often restore faith in community initiatives. By engaging in long-term clean-up operations, Sangwan and his team are laying the foundation for a cleaner future, inspiring others to participate in environmental conservation efforts. His work, though often understated, plays a vital role in fostering a culture of responsibility among visitors to these beloved natural landscapes.

Sangwan’s efforts serve as a poignant reminder that individual actions can collectively yield significant impacts, offering a path towards improved environmental stewardship. The appreciation shown online further underscores a growing awareness about littering and the importance of preserving the splendour of the Himalayas, inviting a broader dialogue about how each person can contribute to the cause.

A man from Haryana has garnered attention online after detailing his inspiring journey from being a Zomato delivery rider to securing a place at the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) at the University of Delhi. Girish Sharma shared his experiences in a thoughtful LinkedIn post titled “From a Zomato Delivery Rider to FMS Delhi,” in which he highlighted years of challenges and the eventual academic breakthrough he achieved.

Sharma recounted his past struggles, stating that six years prior he had lost his ambitions in the face of daily survival. Prior to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, he worked as a delivery rider while also taking on teaching positions and other small tasks. The pandemic served as a critical turning point in his life, allowing him to take a step back and reevaluate his future aspirations.

During this time of reflection, Sharma realised that the current path he was on was not fulfilling. He gradually reignited his passion for business and made the decision to pursue an MBA from one of the top business schools in India, despite initially lacking clear knowledge about the entrance exam and interview processes.

Challenges Faced During Admissions

After enduring several attempts, Sharma ultimately achieved a competitive score in the CAT 2023 examination, leading to interview invitations from various institutions. However, he faced disappointments as many offered him waitlist positions or rejections. He did receive an initial admission offer, but it did not meet his expectations.

Unfazed by these setbacks, Sharma resolved to continue his pursuit of an MBA. He later announced his acceptance into the prestigious Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi, a prominent institution known for its rigorous academic standards. This achievement highlights his resilience and commitment to personal growth.

Sharma expressed his gratitude to those who supported him throughout this challenging journey. He credited mentors and educators from coaching centres, as well as guidance from interview mentors, for helping him build the confidence needed to succeed. He acknowledged that a supportive network, including friends and colleagues, played a significant role in his accomplishments.

Message of Perseverance and Community Support

In concluding his LinkedIn post, Sharma delivered a motivational message to others experiencing similar setbacks in their journeys. He encouraged individuals to remain steadfast in their efforts, stating, “If you’re somewhere in the middle of your own version of this, keep going.” His story resonated widely, resulting in an outpouring of support and appreciation from users on the platform.

Many people praised Sharma’s determination and personal transformation throughout this process. One user described his experience as “a truly inspiring story that reflects the power of determination, hard work, and self-belief,” emphasising that one’s circumstances do not dictate their potential. Another commenter noted that the shift from delivery rider to a student at FMS Delhi represented not merely a career change but a complete reorientation of purpose.

Several professionals highlighted the emotional challenges accompanying such journeys, pointing out how the mental strain of repeated failures is often overlooked. They acknowledged that the ultimate success is the result of prolonged effort and resilience rather than merely focusing on the end result.

Abhay Grewal, known as “IIT Baba,” has returned to his hometown of Jhajjar in Haryana following his recent marriage. Having gained prominence during the Prayagraj Maha Kumbh, he arrived with his wife Pritika to the excitement of many who gathered to welcome them. Their visit to Jhajjar comes as part of their plans to complete the necessary Know Your Customer (KYC) formalities for opening a bank account together.

During their stay, Abhay took the opportunity to visit his father, Karn Singh Grewal, who is an advocate, at his office located within the tehsil complex. This visit not only allowed for family bonding but also served as a chance for local residents to connect with the couple, with many lining up to capture selfies with Abhay. The joyous atmosphere highlighted the significance of the occasion for both Abhay and the townsfolk.

Family Responsibilities and Future Plans

This initiative aims to promote an understanding of various forms of sadhana, which is a spiritual practice that includes meditation. He emphasised the importance of having a clear purpose in education and personal growth.

Abhay articulated that the university will not only focus on academic teaching but will also delve into spiritual practices, thereby creating an environment conducive to holistic development. He firmly believes that for spiritual advancement, one must strive to distance themselves from worldly distractions.

Current Residence and Lifestyle Choices

As for his current living arrangements, Abhay mentioned that he is residing in Himachal Pradesh. This choice appears to align with his aspirations for spiritual growth and the development of a more reflective lifestyle. Living in the serene environment of the mountains is presumably an essential part of his journey towards fulfilling his ambitions.

The visit to Jhajjar not only marks a personal celebration for Abhay but also reiterates his connection to his roots, even as he embarks on future endeavours. His experiences at the Kumbh and subsequent rise to fame have positioned him as an individual keen on blending personal and spiritual goals.

By maintaining ties with his hometown, he demonstrates the importance of community while pursuing broader educational and spiritual objectives. Abhay’s narrative serves as an inspiration to many, showcasing the intersection between traditional values and modern aspirations.

On March 30, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini held a review meeting with officials from the Urban Local Bodies Department to discuss preparations for the upcoming monsoon season. He emphasized the importance of identifying appropriate sites for installing water harvesting systems throughout the state to mitigate waterlogging issues that frequently arise during heavy rainfall.

Pre-Monsoon Measures Discussed

During the meeting, the Chief Minister conducted a detailed evaluation of various pre-monsoon measures. These included the cleaning of drainage systems, enhancement of water drainage infrastructure, and improvements in sanitation. He instructed the officials to pinpoint areas prone to drainage problems and to seek alternative solutions to these issues. Saini particularly urged the exploration of water harvesting technologies at locations vulnerable to flooding, stressing the need for rainwater conservation to lessen waterlogging occurrences.

Data Collection and Implementation Plans

The Chief Minister called for the development of comprehensive and up-to-date data regarding water harvesting initiatives within the state. This data should encompass existing water harvesting sites, operational status of these systems, and identification of areas where new installations are necessary. He mentioned that these systems should be prioritized across all government departments, especially in regions that experience significant waterlogging.

Enhancements in Sanitation Management

Another focal point of the meeting was the improvement of the state’s sanitation system. Officials informed the Chief Minister about the integration of advanced technology, specifically a radio frequency identification (RFID)-based system, aimed at enhancing door-to-door garbage collection. This technology is intended to bolster monitoring processes and increase transparency within sanitation management.

Monitoring Waste Collection Systems

Additionally, the meeting included a review of the GPS-enabled waste collection system. The Chief Minister instructed officials to ensure effective oversight of this system. Officials elaborated on the use of RFID technology to streamline waste collection operations, making them more organized and transparent. They also provided details on measures to strengthen monitoring of street sweeping machines, which will now be equipped with four cameras for improved surveillance.

Incentives for Accountability

To further ensure accountability within the waste management agencies, the Chief Minister introduced a penalty of Rs 1,250 per hour for agencies found negligent during their operations. Furthermore, these agencies will be mandated to submit video evidence of their work along with their monthly invoices for verification when necessary.

Support for Sanitation Workers

The welfare of Safai Karmcharis, or sanitation workers, was also a priority during the meeting. The Chief Minister directed that they receive necessary safety equipment, uniforms, and shoes. He stressed the importance of ensuring a safe and comfortable working environment for these individuals, advocating for a standard uniform dress code for Safai Karmcharis across the state.

Focus on Major Urban Areas

Lastly, the meeting addressed sanitation, drainage, and water availability in key urban centers such as Gurugram and Faridabad. The Chief Minister instructed officials to pay particular attention to these cities to ensure that residents do not experience inconveniences during the monsoon season.

Rajasthan’s Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), in collaboration with the local police from Hanumangarh, is preparing to travel to Ambala, Haryana. This decision follows the arrest of three individuals identified as terrorism suspects by the Haryana Special Task Force (STF). The suspects were found in possession of an improvised explosive device (IED), raising significant security alarms in Rajasthan and its neighboring states.

During initial interrogations, the detained individuals purportedly indicated plans to carry out explosions in multiple cities throughout India. Authorities noted that Hanumangarh was potentially among the targeted locations. Consequently, police officials from Hanumangarh have communicated their intent to work closely with Haryana’s enforcement agencies. Their objective is to gather more information regarding possible accomplices, as well as to explore any connections these suspects might have to the state of Rajasthan.

The recent developments have heightened vigilance within security forces across Rajasthan. Officials have laid out a strategy to enhance security measures in key areas, particularly those that may have been identified as potential targets for these attacks. The gravity of this situation necessitates swift action and thorough investigation to prevent any harmful incidents.

As part of their efforts, authorities in Rajasthan are expected to examine any existing intelligence or suspicious activities that could be related to the detained suspects. This proactive approach is aimed at ensuring public safety and mitigating further risks following this alarming incident.

Police sources revealed that a detailed analysis of the suspects’ profiles is underway. This will assist in uncovering any potential affiliations with extremist groups or prior criminal activities. The involvement of multiple teams from different police jurisdictions underscores the seriousness with which the matter is being addressed.

The task force in Haryana, who apprehended the suspects, is also expected to share intelligence with Rajasthan’s law enforcement to facilitate a comprehensive understanding of the network of operatives implicated in such activities. This collaboration highlights the ongoing efforts to maintain security and counter-terrorism initiatives across state borders.

Further, the police in Rajasthan have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behavior as part of the community’s collective responsibility in maintaining safety and security. As investigations continue, officials are committed to deploying necessary resources to neutralize any threats that may arise from this incident.

The situation remains fluid as authorities work diligently to piece together the broader implications of these arrests. With concerns about potential attacks now at the forefront, the focus is firmly on intelligence gathering and maintaining peace for the residents of Rajasthan and adjacent states.

The collaboration between the Rajasthan ATS and Haryana STF serves as a reminder of the importance of inter-state cooperation in addressing security challenges. Law enforcement agencies are expected to enhance not only their operational readiness but also their information-sharing protocols to effectively counter the evolving landscape of terrorism threats.

A specialized team from the East Khasi Hills district has apprehended two individuals believed to be involved in a series of Automated Teller Machine (ATM) thefts across the country, particularly in the northeastern region. This operation, which took place in Haryana’s Roop district, was led by DSP Operations Sinsang Samar, and resulted in the arrests of Salim, 26, and Rahul, 31. Authorities report that this group executed their thefts with remarkable efficiency, completing the heist in approximately seven minutes.

Details of the ATM Thefts Revealed

Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem disclosed that three ATM theft incidents had been documented, with the thieves exhibiting a high level of professional skill. The initial theft occurred on May 21, 2025, at an ATM in Mawkria, resulting in the loss of Rs. 28,13,100. The second incident took place on December 30, involving an ATM in Smit, where cash amounting to Rs. 35,57,000 was stolen. The most recent theft on February 8 involved an ATM at Millev, with Rs. 35,00,000 taken. The rapid execution of these heists has raised concerns about the sophistication of such criminal activities in the region.

Investigation and Arrest Operations

SP Syiem also confirmed that two cases were filed in Mawngap, while one was lodged in Madanrting. Following a detailed investigation, the special cell deployed a dedicated team to Haryana on February 27 in collaboration with the Central Investigation Agency. Operations were initiated on March 9, targeting the suspects believed to be significant figures behind these ATM thefts throughout India, especially in the Northeast.

Local Collaborators Also Arrested

Following the arrest of the primary suspects, police conducted further operations in Shillong, resulting in the detention of two additional individuals, identified as local facilitators. The suspects—John Fisher Lingkhoi, aged 32, from Umpleng, and Joyous Dora, aged 47, from Mawlai Mukwad—were apprehended as part of ongoing local efforts. Both are currently in custody, with John Fisher and Joyous Dora facing a six-day remand, while Salim and Rahul are held on a five-day remand.
