They allegedly required candidates to pay between Rs 7,000 and Rs 10,000 as registration or admission fees for non-existent aviation courses.

The investigation began after a complainant noted on June 10, 2026, that he had encountered an advertisement for a job on Instagram linked to British Airways. After providing his details, he received a call from an individual claiming to be Karishma, an HR representative. This person allegedly requested sensitive documents, such as his PAN card and CV, through WhatsApp.

Details of the Scam

The complainant was informed that obtaining a diploma in Airport/Aviation Management from the Future Wings Learning Institute was necessary for securing the job. Following this, he transferred Rs 7,000 via UPI and was said to have received fake documentation, including an admission slip and a job offer letter.

Upon realising that British Airways was a non-existent entity and that communications with the accused had ceased, he reported the incident through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (NCRP) helpline 1930. Consequently, an FIR was registered on July 14, 2026, under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

In response to the complaint, police engaged in a detailed investigation involving technical analysis of mobile numbers, payment trails, and website registrations. This led them to trace the accused to Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

Identification and Profiles of the Arrested

Sandeep Kumar, aged 23, from Greater Noida, has been identified as the alleged mastermind, while his 27-year-old associate, Akhil Kumar from Moradabad, acted as his partner in the scam. Additionally, Rakesh Kumar, aged 47, from Greater Noida West, worked as the website developer. The three female tele-callers have been named as Shweta, Sapna, and Sakshi.

According to investigative reports, Sandeep formerly worked as a tele-caller for similar fraudulent aviation companies, which presumably equipped him with the skills to operate such scams. His previous venture, “Pragati Airways,” eventually led to his collaboration with Akhil Kumar to form the fictitious British Airways and Future Wings Learning Institute.

The accused operated from a rented office located in Gaur City Centre Mall in Noida. The website developer was reportedly responsible for creating fraudulent sites, while data pertaining to job seekers was allegedly sourced from online job portals. The tele-callers portrayed themselves as HR professionals in aviation, persuading job seekers to pay fees for registrations.

After receiving payments, the suspects allegedly supplied victims with fake certificates, admission slips, and job offers to give the appearance of legitimacy to their operations. Authorities noted that the accused routinely changed their working locations and phone numbers to avoid detection. Following increased complaints about British Airways, they reportedly launched new fraudulent sites named Shankh Airways and Excellence Learning Institute.

The police have seized vital evidence during the operation, including two laptops, eight mobile phones, eight SIM cards, and registers containing sensitive information about job seekers. The NCRP records show an additional ten complaints connected to British Airways, using the same mobile numbers or banking accounts associated with the accused. Ongoing investigations aim to uncover further connections and identify more individuals potentially involved in this deceptive network.

Delhi Police have urged the public to verify job offers from social media through credible and official channels and to refrain from making any payments for courses or certifications that are claimed as prerequisites for employment.

Fahim Moin Hussain Sayed and Naim Mueen Sayyed were arrested in Mumbai on Sunday, according to sources. The investigation began after a woman from Goa was allegedly subjected to a digital arrest and forced to transfer Rs 2.60 crore between May and June 2025 into accounts described as “Secret Supervision Accounts”.

Two Arrested In Mumbai, Sent To Goa

The ED produced the two accused before a special Prevention of Money Laundering Act court in Mumbai on Sunday. The court granted the agency transit remand, allowing the accused to be taken to Panaji, where the case has been registered.

The agency is expected to produce them before a special court in Panaji on Monday and seek their custodial interrogation, sources said.

The case is being investigated by the ED under the money laundering law and forms part of a wider probe into an alleged cybercrime network operating across multiple states and Union Territories.

Rs 30,000 Crore In Alleged Transactions Under Scanner

During its investigation, the ED traced the money allegedly taken from the Goa-based victim through various bank accounts. The funds were reportedly withdrawn as cash and subsequently converted into foreign currency through money changers licensed by the Reserve Bank of India.

Sources said the agency suspects that the alleged network handled bank transactions worth around Rs 27,000 crore, in addition to cash dealings estimated at Rs 3,000 crore.

The total amount allegedly defrauded from victims is estimated at around Rs 4,000 crore, according to sources.

The investigation has so far linked the alleged network to approximately 300 complaints and 150-160 FIRs registered in 20 states and Union Territories, indicating the scale of the suspected operation.

ED Searches Goa And Mumbai Premises

The ED has conducted two rounds of searches as part of the investigation. The first was carried out in Goa and Mumbai in July, followed by another round on August 21.

During the searches, the agency seized around Rs 3.25 crore in cash, sources said.

Investigators also examined the alleged use of shell and dummy companies in the network. According to sources, several such entities had drivers and other employees living in single-room accommodation listed as their directors.

The ED suspects that the use of such individuals and entities was part of the alleged network’s method of operating and moving funds.

The arrests are part of the agency’s wider investigation into an alleged cyber fraud network suspected of operating across several parts of the country and using multiple channels to receive, withdraw and transfer money obtained from victims.

अंडरट्रायल कैदियों के ट्रांसफर का रास्ता होगा साफ

सरकार के मुताबिक मौजूदा Transfer of Prisoners Act, 1950 में मुख्य रूप से दोषसिद्ध कैदियों के ट्रांसफर का प्रावधान था। अंडरट्रायल कैदी अदालत के रिमांड वारंट के आधार पर जेल में रहते हैं और उन्हें दूसरे राज्य की जेल में भेजने को लेकर स्पष्ट कानूनी व्यवस्था नहीं थी। इसी कमी को दूर करने के लिए पंजाब में 2025 में कानून में संशोधन किया गया था। इस संशोधन को 21 अप्रैल 2025 को राष्ट्रपति की मंजूरी मिली। अब दिल्ली सरकार इसी संशोधित व्यवस्था को राजधानी में लागू करने की तैयारी कर रही है।

जेल के अंदर से अपराध रोकने पर फोकस

सरकार का कहना है कि कुछ कुख्यात गैंगस्टर जेल में रहने के बावजूद अपने आपराधिक नेटवर्क को मजबूत करने की कोशिश करते हैं। स्थानीय नेटवर्क और दूसरे गैंग के संपर्कों के जरिए जेल से ही आपराधिक गतिविधियों को बढ़ावा देने का खतरा बना रहता है। ऐसे कैदियों को दिल्ली से बाहर की जेलों में भेजने से उनके स्थानीय नेटवर्क पर पकड़ कमजोर करने और गवाहों को प्रभावित करने की क्षमता कम करने में मदद मिल सकती है। सरकार को उम्मीद है कि इससे जेल के अंदर गैंगवार और बदले की कार्रवाई का खतरा भी घटेगा।

26 गैंग के 188 सदस्य चिन्हित

सरकार के अनुसार, मई 2026 में दिल्ली में 26 चिन्हित गैंग से जुड़े 188 सदस्यों की पहचान की गई थी। इनमें से 107 गैंगस्टरों को गिरफ्तार किया गया था। सरकार का मानना है कि संगठित अपराध से जुड़े हाई रिस्क कैदियों की गतिविधियों पर जेल के अंदर भी कड़ी निगरानी जरूरी है। दूसरे राज्यों में ट्रांसफर की व्यवस्था इसी रणनीति का हिस्सा होगी।

ट्रायल और कानूनी प्रक्रिया पर भी ध्यान

कैदियों के अंतरराज्यीय ट्रांसफर के दौरान न्यायिक प्रक्रिया का पालन किया जाएगा। जरूरत पड़ने पर भारतीय नागरिक सुरक्षा संहिता (BNSS), 2023 के प्रावधानों के तहत न्यायिक कार्रवाई की जाएगी। इसके अलावा Model Prison and Correctional Services Act, 2023 में भी एक राज्य से दूसरे राज्य की जेल में कैदियों को भेजने का प्रावधान है। इसमें अंडरट्रायल कैदियों के ट्रांसफर की व्यवस्था भी शामिल है और इसके लिए ट्रायल कोर्ट की सहमति जरूरी होती है।

जेलों में बढ़ेगी निगरानी

दिल्ली में संशोधित कानून लागू होने के बाद हाई रिस्क अंडरट्रायल कैदियों को दूसरे राज्यों की जेलों में भेजने के लिए कानूनी आधार मजबूत होगा। सरकार का लक्ष्य जेलों की सुरक्षा बढ़ाने के साथ जेल के अंदर से चलने वाले आपराधिक नेटवर्क पर रोक लगाना है। हालांकि हर मामले में संबंधित कानूनी और न्यायिक प्रक्रिया का पालन करना जरूरी होगा।

An early operation by the Excise Ernakulam Range led to the capture of two suspects, including an 18-year-old woman, at a luxury hotel in Kaloor, with 49.3 grams of MDMA found in their possession.

Following this initial arrest, authorities received reliable information about the involvement of a wholesale dealer named Varun Dev, who reportedly trafficked MDMA into Kerala. On Saturday, law enforcement conducted a search operation in Ernakulam district after receiving intelligence that a deal was imminent.

On Saturday, officials intercepted a vehicle identified as implicated in the drug trade, which was stuck in a traffic jam at Vyttila. They discovered a secret compartment concealed under the steering wheel containing 230 grams of MDMA and three grams of hashish oil. The occupants of the vehicle, identified as Varun Dev, 35, and Vipin S Kumar, 30, both hailing from Pathanamthitta district, were taken into custody.

In total, four individuals have now been arrested in connection with this case. Officials confiscated six mobile devices and Rs 69,500 in cash during the operations. परिजनों के मुताबिक, नाजिया फोन के जरिए उन्हें ससुराल में होने वाली परेशानियों के बारे में बताती थीं। परिवार का दावा है कि उनके साथ गाली-गलौज और मारपीट की जाती थी। उन्हें घर से निकालने और जान से मारने की धमकी दिए जाने का भी आरोप है। परिजनों के अनुसार, उन्होंने पति के व्यवहार की शिकायत कई बार की थी, लेकिन स्थिति में सुधार नहीं हुआ।

परिवार ने जताई हत्या की आशंका

नाजिया के मायके वालों ने मौत को आत्महत्या मानने पर सवाल उठाए हैं। उन्हें आशंका है कि नाजिया की हत्या कर घटना को आत्महत्या का रूप दिया गया। नाजिया के पिता और भाई ने बिजवासन के कार्यकारी मजिस्ट्रेट के सामने बयान दर्ज कराए हैं। परिवार ने पोस्टमार्टम की वीडियोग्राफी कराने और सबूत सुरक्षित रखने की मांग की है।

Moreover, the prosecution suggested that Basanti facilitated the crime by sharing confidential information about the deceased with co-accused Varsha. Fees were claimed for registration, admission, training, medical exams, uniforms, security deposits, and processing costs. It has been noted that these payments were often collected online.

In a bid to establish credibility, the gang allegedly fabricated offer letters, acceptance confirmations, certificates, and additional documentation. Police officials indicated that they also created a fake website under the name of Noida International Airport while misappropriating the names and logos of multiple legitimate institutions.

Financial Aspects of the Scam

Ongoing investigations are focused on dissecting the financial aspects of this scam and evaluating the involvement of any additional individuals. Authorities are working to ascertain the full extent of the fraudulent operations and identify any further accomplices.
