]]> In a significant development against Left-Wing Extremism, a senior Maoist leader along with eight other cadres surrendered to the Andhra Pradesh Police in Vijayawada on March 30. Chelluri Narayana Rao, known as Suresh, who was a Central Committee Member and Secretary of the Andhra-Odisha Border Special Zonal Committee, presented himself to the Director General of Police. With a lengthy association of nearly 36 years within the CPI (Maoist), Rao held important positions throughout his tenure.

Surrender Amid Intensified Anti-Naxal Operations

The surrender takes place in the context of ongoing efforts by authorities to tackle Naxalism effectively. Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, has repeatedly underscored the Centre’s goal to eliminate Naxalism by March 31, 2026. In the past year, numerous Maoist leaders have opted for surrender, transitioning to mainstream society. Notably, one of the most wanted Maoist leaders, known as Sukru, along with four others, surrendered to Odisha Police on March 25.

Bounties and Arms Seized

Additional Director General of Police (Anti-Naxal Operations) Sanjeev Panda disclosed that the surrendered Maoists had a combined bounty of Rs 66 lakh. They also turned over five weapons, which included one AK-47, one INSAS rifle, and a single-shot rifle. Panda indicated that Maoist presence in the Kandhamal district has dwindled, with only about 8-9 members remaining. As part of a strategy to intensify operations, he urged remaining Maoists to surrender, assuring them that existing surrender policies would be extended.

Recent Trends in Maoist Surrenders

In Chhattisgarh’s Bastar region, recognized as a notorious stronghold of the Naxal movement within the Dandakaranya forest belt, Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee member Pappa Rao, along with 17 other Maoist cadres, surrendered on March 17. Inspector General of Police for Bastar, P. Sundarraj, remarked that for the first time in the history of the Maoist movement in Dandakaranya, the organization is becoming leaderless.

Key Factors Leading to Surrenders

The recent surrenders, particularly by high-ranking CPI (Maoist) leaders, have been largely attributed to efforts aimed at rehabilitation and reintegration of former Naxal cadres into the mainstream. The changes in approach may be contributing to the increasing number of individuals choosing to abandon their involvement in the Maoist activities.

]]> छत्तीसगढ़ के बस्तर मंडल में एक प्रमुख घटना घटित हुई है, जहाँ 51 नक्सलियों ने पुलिस के सामने आत्मसमर्पण किया है। इनमें 34 महिलाएं शामिल हैं। इन सभी पर कुल 1.61 करोड़ रुपये का इनाम था। ‘पूना मारगेम’ पहल के अंतर्गत बीजापुर और सुकमा जिलों में हुए इस आत्मसमर्पण को राज्य सरकार की पुनर्वास नीति की सफलता के रूप में देखा जा रहा है। प्रशासन ने नक्सलवाद के खिलाफ व्यापक अभियान चलाया है, जो अब फलित होता दिख रहा है।

बीजापुर में खास आत्मसमर्पण

जानकारी के अनुसार, बस्तर पुलिस के ‘पूना मारगेम’ पुनर्वास पहल के तहत बीजापुर में 30 नक्सलियों ने सरेंडर किया, जिनमें 20 महिलाएं भी शामिल थीं। वहीं, सुकमा जिले में 14 महिलाओं समेत 21 अन्य नक्सलियों ने मुख्यधारा में लौटने का निर्णय लिया। नक्सलियों का कहना है कि वे राज्य सरकार की पुनर्वास नीति से प्रभावित हैं और सामान्य जीवन जीने की उनकी इच्छा है।

अब तक 300 नक्सली हुए आत्मसमर्पण

छत्तीसगढ़ में नक्सलवाद खत्म करने की समय सीमा 31 मार्च, 2026 के आस-पास है, और इस वर्ष अब तक लगभग 300 नक्सलियों ने आत्मसमर्पण किया है। पुलिस महानिरीक्षक सुंदरराज पट्टिलिंगम ने कहा कि यह सब राज्य सरकार की आत्मसमर्पण और पुनर्वास नीति के प्रभाव का परिणाम है।

इनाम की विस्तृत जानकारी

गिरफ्तार किए गए नक्सलियों में से बोटी पोडियम उर्फ मल्ला, सुखराम मदकम और रीना पुणेम शामिल हैं, जिन पर 8-8 लाख रुपये का इनाम था। 30 नक्सलियों पर कुल 85 लाख रुपये का इनाम घोषित किया गया था।

जमा किया गया हथियार

सुकमा में आत्मसमर्पण करने वाले नक्सलियों ने तीन एके-47 राइफल, दो सेल्फ लोडिंग राइफल, एक इंसास राइफल, और अन्य हथियारों के साथ-साथ जिलेटिन की छड़ें और डेटोनेटर भी जमा कराए। आत्मसमर्पण करने वाले हर नक्सली को तत्काल 50,000 रुपये की सहायता राशि दी जाएगी।

आत्मसमर्पण की अपील

सुंदरराज पट्टिलिंगम ने कहा कि सुरक्षा शिविरों की स्थापना, बेहतर सड़क संपर्क और सरकार की विकास योजनाओं के कारण माओवादी गतिविधियों में कमी आई है। उन्होंने अन्य नक्सलियों से भी आत्मसमर्पण की अपील की और कहा कि हिंसा केवल विनाश और पीड़ा का कारण बनती है।

मुख्यमंत्री का बयान

छत्तीसगढ़ के मुख्यमंत्री विष्णु देव साय ने इस घटना को बस्तर क्षेत्र में शांति और विकास की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम बताया। उन्होंने कहा कि यह सरकार के पिछले दो वर्षों के प्रयासों का प्रतिफल है, जिसने सड़क, शिक्षा, स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं और बुनियादी सुविधाओं में विस्तार किया है।
