Police reports indicate that the sequence of events began due to a domestic dispute within the family. Kapil’s wife, Kajal, had been residing at her parental home following her sister’s wedding on July 3. When Kapil attempted to bring her back the next day, Kajal requested an extension of her stay to fulfil family obligations. This request allegedly provoked an argument between the couple.

On July 8, Kapil visited his in-laws’ home again, where a second altercation reportedly erupted over Kajal’s continued absence. According to initial police investigations, it is believed that Kapil, feeling despondent over the situation, allegedly mixed poison into a soft drink and administered it to his son. The gravity of the child’s condition escalated rapidly, necessitating his transfer to a hospital.

Response from the Authorities

Law enforcement officials revealed that, despite efforts to save Krishna, he died en route to the hospital. Following this, Kapil allegedly ingested poison himself and was subsequently admitted to the same hospital in critical condition. Reports state that he succumbed to his injuries during treatment in the early hours of Saturday, July 11.

Kithore Station House Officer Subodh Kumar Saxena has affirmed that an investigation is underway. Both families involved have been interviewed in order to piece together the exact circumstances that led to this tragic event. Authorities are prioritising gathering evidence to ensure appropriate legal measures can be applied based on their findings.
