Iran Reports Strike On Oil Tanker

Iran said its forces struck the Togo-flagged oil tanker Trend over what it described as an “illegal attempt” to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

The report was carried by Iran’s state broadcaster, which cited the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The Associated Press could not immediately independently confirm the claim.

According to the broadcaster, the Guard’s naval forces had warned that unauthorised attempts to pass through the strategic waterway would result in the “destruction” of offending vessels.

Tehran has asserted control over the Strait of Hormuz since the US and Israel launched the war on February 28, raising concerns over the safety of one of the world’s most important shipping routes.

Separate Ship Incident Reported Near Oman

A separate maritime “security incident” was reported overnight around 16 nautical miles northeast of Khasab in Oman, on the opposite side of the Strait of Hormuz.

South Korea has maintained the anti-piracy Cheonghae Unit in the region for years. Lee said the threat posed by Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen to commercial shipping had become a concern.

The Houthis, however, have said they are targeting only assets belonging to neighbouring Saudi Arabia, the world’s top oil exporter.

Speaking about the potential impact on South Korea’s economy and the need to protect the country’s vessels, Lee said, “there will be no troop deployment that involves or intervenes in the war. I can state that clearly.”

Saleh’s forces and the Mocha-based satellite television channel Aljoumhouriya TV described the audio attributed to the commander as an AI fabrication, although the reported use of artificial intelligence in producing the recording has not been independently verified.

Strategic Port Falls To Houthi Forces

Mocha is located on Yemen’s Red Sea coast near the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, a crucial maritime passage linking the Red Sea with the Gulf of Aden and the Indian Ocean. Its capture marks one of the Houthis’ most significant territorial gains since a UN-brokered truce in 2022 largely halted major changes along the country’s civil war front lines.

Saleh, a nephew of former Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh, commands the UAE-backed faction of the National Resistance Forces and had established Mocha as his principal base. The fall of the city brings the Houthis closer to the narrow Bab al-Mandeb waterway, raising concerns about the potential for further disruption to a major international shipping route.

Any threat to the passage could have wider implications for global trade and energy supplies. The Bab al-Mandeb Strait is a key link between the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean, and disruptions there, combined with threats to shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, could put additional pressure on global oil supplies and trade between Asia and Europe.

Audio Attributed To Saleh Spreads During Offensive

The recording began circulating as Houthi fighters advanced through positions held by Saleh’s forces along Yemen’s western coast. It purportedly featured Saleh announcing a retreat and contained messages suggesting that withdrawing from positions did not amount to defeat.

“Heroes, these young men have learnt that the tide can turn in battle. War demands both advance and retreat. Some days favour you and others do not, and there is no shame in that. We have reserves, additional strength and the men to continue fighting,” the audio circulated in Saleh’s name said in Arabic.

Another portion of the purported recording instructed military units to pull back towards Mocha. “After assessing the situation, and following betrayal from within, the failure of our allies and heavy losses suffered for the homeland and the Republic, all units must withdraw to Mocha so that the enemy can be targeted in open terrain… I repeat, all units must withdraw to Mocha so that the enemy can be targeted in open terrain,” it said.

The recording was amplified on social media by Yemeni activist Adel al-Hasani, whose account has nearly half a million followers, according to an assessment posted by Basha Report, an open-source intelligence and conflict-monitoring account on X. Its circulation gave the message significant reach at a time when troops were under battlefield pressure and conflicting accounts were emerging over the situation in Mocha.

National Resistance Calls Recording An AI Fabrication

The National Resistance’s military media accused the Houthis of manufacturing the recording through artificial intelligence and falsely attributing it to Saleh. Aljoumhouriya TV also rejected the recording, describing it as “a failed attempt to mislead public opinion and affect morale”.

“The Houthis fabricated an audio recording using artificial intelligence and attributed it to Major General Staff Tareq Saleh in a failed attempt to mislead public opinion and affect morale,” the Mocha-based television channel said in a post on X.

Saleh’s media arm said the commander’s genuine statements and positions would be issued only through official National Resistance military channels. It warned that any material attributed to Saleh outside those channels should not be considered authenticated.

The alleged operation was also accompanied by another reported attempt to influence troops on the western coast. At around 2 am on September 10, Houthi forces allegedly sent messages offering amnesty to soldiers who laid down their weapons, surrendered and returned home, according to Basha Report.

The messages and disputed audio appeared intended to create the impression among government-aligned forces that their resistance was weakening and that withdrawal or surrender was the safest course. However, neither the messages nor their reported impact on soldiers has been independently verified.

Allegations Emerge Alongside Report On AI And Missile Development

The claims surrounding the disputed Saleh recording surfaced as separate evidence pointed to efforts by actors in Houthi-controlled northern Yemen to use advanced artificial intelligence for military purposes.

Anthropic, the company behind the Claude AI model, published a 154-page threat intelligence report on Thursday examining how governments and non-state groups had used its AI systems in warfare and weapons-related activities.

The report said a weapons-development cell in northern Yemen had used Claude Code to work on guidance, navigation and control software linked to a guided rocket and other missile programmes. The projects reportedly included a multi-stage ballistic missile with a stated range of more than 2,000 kilometres and an R2000 missile family that included a hypersonic-glide variant.

Anthropic did not explicitly name the Houthis in the report, but the details provided pointed to the Yemeni Shia movement. The allegations have drawn attention to the possible combination of conventional military operations, missile development and digital tools in the country’s continuing conflict.

The disputed audio recording has added a further dimension to that debate. Saleh’s forces maintain that the imitation of their commander’s voice was intended to create confusion and weaken troop morale during a critical battlefield setback, while the Houthis’ capture of Mocha has brought renewed strategic focus to Yemen’s western coast and the approaches to the Bab al-Mandeb Strait.

खाड़ी देश उर्वरक (urea) के बड़े निर्यातक हैं। युद्ध से इनकी सप्लाई बाधित हुई है, जिससे फसलों की पैदावार कम हो सकती है और अनाज के दाम बढ़ सकते हैं। भारत और ब्राजील जैसे देशों में 2026 में फसल की पैदावार सामान्य से कम रहने की आशंका जताई गई है।

खाद्य संकट से सुरक्षा के लिए मिलकर काम करना होगा। ईरान युद्ध को लेकर बनी परिस्थितियों से निपटने के लिए वैश्विक स्तर पर ध्यान देने की आवश्यकता है। विभिन्न देशों के सरकारों को अपनी खाद्य सुरक्षा योजनाओं को मजबूत करना होगा ताकि कमजोर तबकों का समर्थन किया जा सके। हालांकि, हाल ही में 8 अप्रैल 2026 को अमेरिका और ईरान के बीच एक दो सप्ताह के अस्थायी युद्धविराम (Ceasefire) का समझौता हुआ है, जिससे हॉर्मुज मार्ग को फिर से खोलने की योजना है। इससे बाजार में थोड़ी राहत देखी गई है, लेकिन कीमतें अभी भी युद्ध-पूर्व स्तर से ऊपर बनी हुई हैं

भारतीय एयरलाइंस Air India और IndiGo ने नवीनतम ट्रैवल एडवाइजरी जारी की है, जिसमें घोषणा की गई है कि बुधवार से कुछ उड़ानें मिडिल ईस्ट के ऊपर से संचालित की जाएंगी। ये उड़ानें सुरक्षा की स्थिति और सरकारी अनुमति के आधार पर चलेंगी। मिडिल ईस्ट (पश्चिम एशिया) में जारी क्षेत्रीय तनाव और एयरस्पेस प्रतिबंधों के कारण एयर इंडिया (Air India) और इंडिगो (IndiGo) ने अपने उड़ान शेड्यूल में महत्वपूर्ण बदलाव किए हैं। 8 अप्रैल 2026 तक की जानकारी के अनुसार, दोनों एयरलाइंस ने नियमित उड़ानों को कम कर दिया है और उनकी जगह चुनिंदा Ad-hoc उड़ानें संचालित की जा रही हैं।  एयरलाइंस ने यात्रियों को सलाह दी है कि वे अपनी यात्रा की योजना बनाते समय इन महत्वपूर्ण पहलुओं को ध्यान में रखें।

सुरक्षा स्थिति पर ध्यान

ये दोनों एयरलाइंस यात्रियों की सुरक्षा को प्राथमिकता दे रही हैं। मिडिल ईस्ट में मौजूदा स्थिति को देखते हुए, एयरपोर्ट की सुरक्षा और आधिकारिक निर्देशों का पालन करना अनिवार्य होगा। इसलिए, यात्रियों को सलाह दी गई है कि वे उड़ान से पहले आवश्यक जानकारी प्राप्त करें।

यात्रियों के लिए जरूरी जानकारी

Air India और IndiGo ने संकेत दिया है कि यदि स्थिति में कोई बदलाव आता है तो उड़ानें फिर से समायोजित की जा सकती हैं। यात्रियों को इस बात की जानकारी अवश्य लेनी चाहिए कि उनकी उड़ानें समय पर और सुरक्षित रूप से संचालित होंगी। यह ट्रैवल एडवाइजरी उन लोगों के लिए महत्वपूर्ण है जो मिडिल ईस्ट की यात्रा की योजना बना रहे हैं।

एयर इंडिया और इंडिगो का नया उड़ान शेड्यूल (अप्रैल 2026)

वर्तमान में एयरलाइंस दैनिक आधार पर स्थिति की समीक्षा कर रही हैं। नीचे प्रमुख रूटों की नवीनतम स्थिति दी गई है-
संयुक्त अरब अमीरात (UAE): दुबई, अबू धाबी, शारजाह और रास अल खैमाह के लिए नियमित सेवाएं निलंबित हैं। इनकी जगह दिल्ली, मुंबई, मंगलौर और कन्नूर जैसे शहरों से सीमित Ad-hoc उड़ानें संचालित की जा रही हैं।
सऊदी अरब: जेद्दा और रियाद के लिए कुछ नियमित उड़ानें जारी हैं। एयर इंडिया दिल्ली और मुंबई से जेद्दा के लिए संचालित कर रही है, जबकि इंडिगो सऊदी के लिए कुल 126 साप्ताहिक उड़ानें चला रहा है।                                                                                                                                                                               ओमान मस्कट: मस्कट के लिए उड़ानें अपेक्षाकृत स्थिर हैं। दिल्ली, मुंबई, कोच्चि और तिरुवनंतपुरम से अनुसूचित उड़ानें संचालित हो रही हैं।
पूर्ण निलंबन: दोहा, कुवैत, बहरीन और दम्मम के लिए इंडिगो की सेवाएं अस्थायी रूप से बंद हैं। एयर इंडिया ने इज़राइल (तेल अवीव) की उड़ानें 31 मई 2026 तक रद्द कर दी हैं।

सरकारी मंजूरी का इंतजार

इन उड़ानों की योजना सरकारी मंजूरी पर निर्भर करती है। एयरलाइंस ने कहा है कि वे यात्रा के लिए सभी आवश्यक दिशा-निर्देशों का पालन करेंगी। यदि प्रशासन सुरक्षा परिस्थितियों को असुरक्षित मानता है, तो उड़ानें रद्द की जा सकती हैं।

यात्रियों की मदद के लिए तत्पर

Air India और IndiGo ने यह भी बताया है कि वे यात्रियों को आवश्यक सहायता प्रदान करने के लिए तैयार हैं। अगर किसी को फ्लाइट रद्द होने के कारण दिक्कत होती है, तो उनकी सहायता की जाएगी। यात्रियों को इस बारे में पूरी जानकारी मिलेगी, ताकि वे अपने कार्यक्रम के अनुसार योजनाएं बना सकें।
