Furthermore, the report also alerted on the establishment of a women-only wing by the group, announced by its leader, Masood Azhar, on October 8, 2025. This new division, identified as Jamaat ul-Muminat, is reportedly designed to support terrorist activities. The report noted, “On October 8, Jaish-e-Mohammed leader Mohammed Masood Azhar Alvi formally announced the establishment of a women-only wing, Jamaat ul-Muminat (not listed), which was aimed at supporting terrorist attacks.”

In contrast, another member state asserted that Jaish-e-Mohammed was no longer operational, indicating conflicting assessments about the group’s current status. Separately, it was reported that on July 28 last year, three individuals alleged to be involved in a different attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, were killed.

Impact of the Red Fort Car Explosion

The violent incident on November 10 resulted in 15 fatalities and many injuries, prompting extensive investigations into the matter. This probing revealed the presence of a sophisticated terror network, often described as a ‘white-collar’ operation, that had connections to Jaish-e-Mohammed. Prior to this explosion, law enforcement had already made several arrests across various states, which allowed investigators to stitch together evidence of an interstate terror module.

Following the car explosion, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) established that the incident had ties to earlier arrests, leading to a series of new findings as the investigation progressed.

Sanctions Monitoring and Historical Context

The UN’s 1267 Sanctions Committee is tasked with monitoring sanctions imposed on al-Qaeda, the Islamic State, and their affiliates. Jaish-e-Mohammed, along with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), has been included under the scope of this committee due to its historical ties to al-Qaeda, which can be traced back to the 1990s. The ongoing scrutiny is part of global efforts to combat terrorism and disrupt the activities of such organizations operating within South Asia.

As the National Investigation Agency (NIA) investigates the Delhi Red Fort blast case, unknown details and shocking information is coming forward. A car blast on November 10 near the Red Fort in Delhi had left 13 people dead and several injured.

It is now known that the Delhi blast was planned well in advance. According to investigation sources, the accused Dr Umar Mohammad had tested the bomb in the forest area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag before the blast in Delhi. Only after the test was successful, the bomb was taken to Delhi. A NIA team on Tuesday carried out searches in the Hutmurah forest area of Anantnag district as part of its probe.

Two doctors Adil Rather and Jasir Bilal Wani were arrested in connection with the white-collar terror module linked to the banned Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) outfit. On Tuesday, investigators from Jammu and Kashmir Police, CRPF and NIA went to the Anantnag forest along with them. The place where the bomb was tested was identified after searching three locations thoroughly. Investigators have recovered several items related to the bomb test including a damaged gas cylinder. It is also known that doctor Umar had taken shelter in this forest for several days.

Dr Rather’s interrogation led to the recovery of 2,900kg of explosives from a rented accommodation of Dr Muzamil Shakeel of Al Falah University in Haryana’s Faridabad district. Officials are also probing the role of Dr Rather’s brother, Dr Muzaffar Rather, who is believed to have shifted to Dubai earlier this year.

A resident of Qazigund in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag, Jasir Bilal Wani was arrested in Srinagar by the NIA on November 17 for allegedly providing technical support for carrying out attacks by modifying drones and attempting to make rockets ahead of the deadly November 10 car blast that killed 13 people near Red Fort in Delhi.

Earlier, thorough searches were being conducted in Ganderbal in Kashmir and Batamaloo in Srinagar to find out where the explosives for the Delhi blasts were supplied from. In addition, searches were also conducted at the residence of Tufail Niyaz Bhat, who was arrested in the Delhi blasts. However, it is not yet known whether anything suspicious was recovered from there. Incidentally, this Tufail was also linked to militant doctor Adil Ahmed Rather.

On November 7, an AK-47 rifle was recovered from Dr Rather’s locker at the Government Medical College and Hospital in Anantnag, where he worked as a senior resident until October 24, 2024. It is alleged that it was Tufail who delivered a rifle to him. On the other hand, investigators also searched the house of another accused landowner in Wakura village today. Not only the explosives for the blasts, but also the weapons cache of the ‘white collar’ militant module is being searched in the valley.

Meanwhile, it is worth noting that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has started searches and arrests at several places across the country in the investigation into the Delhi blasts. Several doctors have also been arrested from different parts of the country, including Srinagar, during the investigation. Most of the ‘jihadi’ doctors arrested in the case till now hail from Kashmir.

Indian Army broke the spine of terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) during Operation Sindoor conducted in May this year, where 11 members of the family of terrorist leader Masood Azhar died. Now Jaish is trying to regain strength after coping with that blow. Recently, they announced the creation of a women’s brigade for the first time in the history of the organisation. Now it has been learned that 5000 women have already joined that brigade!

Security forces suspect that more than 5000 women have been recruited in the new women’s wing of Jaish-e-Mohammed, which has been named “Jamaat-ul-Mominat”. Currently, these women are undergoing radical education. Masood Azhar has posted about the recruitment of this wing on social media. Jaish’s Women Brigade will be led by Sadiya Azhar, sister of Masood Azhar whose husband Yusuf Azhar was killed in Operation Sindoor on May 7 when Indian forces struck JeM’s headquarters.

Azhar wrote in his post, “By the grace of Allah, more than 5,000 women have joined in a few weeks. Many sisters said that their mindset has changed after the recruitment and they have understood the purpose of life. District units will be formed, there will be a Muntazima (manager) in each district and work will be distributed.”

Masood Azhar had announced the formation of the women’s wing of Jaish ‘Jamaat-ul-Mominat’ on October 8. Then on October 19, the organisation organised a program called ‘Dukhtaran-e-Islam’ to recruit women members for the new unit in Rawalakot of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Now, Masood’s organisation has started giving online jihad lessons in exchange for a ‘donation’ of Rs 500. As per Masood’s announcement, ‘Jamaat-ul-Mominat’ is providing online training to women. These online classes are 40 minutes long and each participant has to pay Rs 500.

‘Jamaat-ul-Mominat’ involved in Delhi car blast

‘Jamaat-ul-Mominat’ made headlines after the car blast in Delhi last month which killed 13 people and injured many. Dr. Shaheen Saeed, was arrested after a large quantity of explosives was recovered from Faridabad near Delhi. Investigators have found that she was associated with the terrorist wing of Jaish.

In his previous message, Masood had outlined the training of the women’s brigade of Jaish, among other things. He said that the women’s brigade will also be trained like the men’s brigade of Jaish, as per the Jaish chief. According to Masood, male militants undergo a 15-day ‘Daura-e-Tarbiat’ training. The term ‘Daura-e-Tarbiat’ (sometimes transliterated as ‘Dora-e-Tarbiat’ or ‘Daura-e-Tarbiyat’) refers to a 15-day indoctrination and training course for male recruits of the Pakistan-based terror organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). The name translates roughly to “Training Session” or “Education Course” in Urdu and Arabic.

Strict rules of women members of Jamaat-ul-Mominat

Similarly, women joining Jamaat-ul-Mominat will also undergo a training called ‘Daura-e-Taskiya’. If they pass the first phase, then the second phase of training, Daura-Ayat-ul-Nisha, will begin. This training will be held at Markaz Usman-o-Ali in Bahawalpur. Although they have changed their approach and have included women in the organisation, Jaish is imposing strict rules on them. Masood said that those who join the women’s brigade will not be able to contact any man other than their husbands or family members on the phone or in any other way.

Lucknow-based female doctor Shaheen Shahid was arrested in the Faridabad explosives recovery incident and Delhi Red Fort blast case. Shaheen was open-minded and against any kind of religious fanaticism. This is what Shaheen’s ex-husband Dr Zafar Hayat claims.

Dr Shaheen Shahid’s ex-husband, Dr Zafar Hayat has stated he was shocked to learn about her alleged terror connections and that he was completely unaware of any of her suspicious activities.

The couple separated in 2012. Dr Hayat, who is an ophthalmologist by profession has told media that he has not been in touch with his ex-wife since then. Dr Hayat said that they divorced around the end of 2012 after she expressed a strong desire to settle abroad (specifically Australia or Europe), which he was not willing to do. He further expressed shock saying he is unable to understand how Shaheen has changed so much in the past few years.

“I have no relationship with her. We got separated in 2012. Both our children live with me. We haven’t been in touch since the separation,” he told a news agency. What was Shaheen like a decade ago? Zafar says, “She was not religious at all. Rather, she was open-minded. She wanted to go to Australia or Europe. After that, we separated. There was a disagreement about going to Australia.” At the same time, the doctor says that their two sons also do not speak to Shaheen.

Dr Shaheen Shahid’s brother expresses shock, disbelief

Shaheen had been living separately and had no contact with the main family for the last three years, so the family was unaware of their activities or associations.

Dr. Shaheen Shahid’s elder brother, Mohammad Shoaib also expressed shock and disbelief over her alleged involvement in a terror module linked to the Delhi car blast. He told media that he and his family are struggling to believe the accusations and cannot believe she is involved in terrorism. Shoaib revealed that he hasn’t been in touch with his sister for four years, though their parents maintained occasional contact.

“Neither my father nor I were treated harshly. There was no pressure or force used to make us say anything. They only asked about when my sister stopped visiting us. Parents will naturally call their children to ask how they are doing. I am her elder brother, of course, I would also worry about her. Isn’t that normal?” he told media.

“Even when she was studying medicine, there was never any sign of her being involved in anything suspicious. I still don’t believe these allegations. As I have said before, I simply cannot believe it,” Shoaib stated.

Who is Dr Shaheen Shahid

Dr. Shaheen Shahid, based in Lucknow is a doctor by profession and was arrested after JeM’s terror module in Faridabad was busted on Monday (November 10) and an assault rifle was recovered from her car. Her arrest comes as probe revealed a multi-state terror module linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind, with the recovery of 2,900 kilograms of explosives and arrest of eight people, including three doctors from Al-Falah University in Faridabad. Shaheen was allegedly heading JeM’s female wing ‘Jaamat-ul-Mominaat’ is trying to spread its influence in Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh Haryana and some parts of South India to create communal tension.

Police suspect Shaheen, a doctor at Al-Falah University, was connected to Dr. Muzammil Ganaie, another faculty member at the same university, who is allegedly part of what authorities call a “white-collar terror module.”

Is Jaish-e-Mohammed using its women’s brigade to give a new form to terrorism? Is that brigade now active in North India? During the investigation of the Faridabad explosives seizure and Delhi car blast cases, a woman doctor came to the attention of the investigators. This woman suspect is closely involved in this huge terrorist activity. From there, it is being assumed that Masood’s ‘zenana jehadis’ have become active on Indian soil.

The Delhi blast case has brought to the headlines the name of Shaheena Shahid, who is suspected to be playing a leading role in forming the ‘women’s wing’ of the Pakistani terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). Shahid, based in Lucknow is a doctor by profession and was arrested after JeM’s terror module in Faridabad was busted on Monday (November 10) and an assault rifle was recovered from her car.

On Monday, a joint team of Jammu and Kashmir Police and Haryana Police arrested a Kashmiri doctor from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, on charges of putting up posters in support of terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed in Srinagar. After questioning the doctor, a car and deadly weapons were recovered from the accused’s rented house. While investigating, the police came to know that the suspicious car belongs to a female doctor namely Shaheena Shahid.

Shaheena was reportedly associated with Dr Mohammed Umar, who is believed to have been driving the car that exploded in Delhi on Monday evening, leaving 13 people dead.

Who is Shaheena Shahid?

While police and central intelligence agencies like NIA are probing Delhi’s Red Fort car blast and its links to the Faridabad module, shocking details have emerged such as radicalisation of educated professionals, including doctors who used their professional credentials to escape law enforcement.

What is known so far is that Shaheen was a resident of Lalbagh, Lucknow and was associated with Al-Fala University. An assault rifle was recovered from her car.

Meanwhile, a suspected militant named Muzammil Ghani alias Musaib was arrested after a large quantity of explosives and firearms were recovered from Faridabad. At least 2900 kg of explosives were recovered from two rooms of his rented house. It is to be noted that a case has been filed under the UAPA section in connection with the horrific explosion near the Red Fort on Monday. A case has been registered under sections 16, 18 of the UAPA, the Explosives Act and multiple sections of the BNS at Delhi’s Kotwali police station.

JeM’s female wing “Jamaat-ul-Mominat” active in India?

Indian army destroyed the Jaish headquarters in Bahawalpur during Operation Sindoor. It is heard that ‘Jaamat-ul-Mominaat’ is trying to spread its influence in Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh Haryana and some parts of South India to create communal tension. It is trying to increase its activities in India through online networks. Its ideas are being spread through various social media platforms and WhatsApp groups. Investigators suspect that the Jamaat-ul-Mominat of Jaish-e-Mohammed is behind the huge quantity of explosives and firearms recovered from Faridabad. Currently, efforts are being made to identify each member of this women’s brigade of Jaish spread across India.

While probing the same, police arrested Shaheena Shahid, a female doctor from Lucknow in connection with the recovery of 2900 kg of explosives in Faridabad. It is learnt that she was in charge of forming “Jamaat-ul-Mominat”, the women’s brigade of Jaish-e-Mohammed.

During Indian Army’s Operation Sindoor, 11 members of Masood Azhar’s family were killed. Immediately after this, Jaish announced the formation of a new women’s brigade under the leadership of Masood Azhar’s sister Sadia to take revenge against India. Jaish started forming this organisation from Markaz-Usman-o-Ali in Bahawalpur. The name of this new women’s brigade is Jamaat-ul-Mominat.

According to sources, Shaheen Shahid was given the responsibility of that branch. Although Sadia will remain the head. Incidentally, Sadia’s husband Yusuf Azdar was the ‘mastermind’ of the Kandahar plane hijacking, who was eliminated during Operation Sindoor. It is estimated that this women’s brigade has started spreading its net in states like Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana. However, before that net can advance much further, investigators are gearing up to root out the terrorism of Masood’s ‘Zenana Jihadis’.

“We are not killing you, go inform Modi,” was a statement given by one of the terrorists to Pallavi, the wife of Manjunath, a resident of Karnataka’s Shivamogga minutes after shooting the latter dead right in front of her eyes.

According to Pallavi, the attackers seemed to be targeting only the Hindus. “Three to four people attacked us. I told them – kill me too, you’ve already killed my husband. One of them said, ‘I won’t kill you. Go tell this to Modi’.”

Operation Sindoor comes in retaliation to the April 22 terror attack in Kashmir’s Pahalgam that left 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen, mostly tourists dead. Soon after the Pahalgam terror attack which took place on April 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had vowed to pursue the perpetrators of the attack and those who took part in its conspiracy to inflict punishment to them “beyond their imagination”.

Pahalgam terror attacks: Sindoor snatched from India’s daughters

The name Sindoor for the operation is relevant post the Pahalgam terror attacks. Sindoor is the Hindi word for vermillion, which married Hindu women often apply to their foreheads. Just like the case of Pallavi, several female Hindu tourists lost their husbands right in front of their eyes, which meant that the Sindoor (vermillion) was removed from their forehead, which is a symbol a Hindu married woman has to carry as per Hindu culture and traditions.

It is as if to avenge the removal of sindoor from the forehead of its daughters, India launched “Operation Sindoor”. In a series of precision strikes carried out overnight early on Wednesday to targeted terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) killing over 80 terrorists dead.

The nine facilities targeted by India are linked to banned terrorist outfits Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), and Hizbul Mujahideen. Operation Sindoor comes in retaliation for the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that left 26 civilians dead.

Pahalgam victim’s daughter reacts to Operation Sindoor’s name

Reacting to the name Operation Sindoor, Asavari Jagdale, daughter of Pune’s Santosh Jagdale who was killed in front of her eyes, said, “I cried a lot hearing the name of the operation. It is a real tribute and justice to those who were killed by terrorists.”

Her father, Santosh Jagdale, 54, was asked to recite an Islamic verse by terrorists, and when he failed, they shot him thrice in the head, behind the ear, and back.

“They then asked my father to recite an Islamic verse (probably the Kalma). When he failed to do so, they pumped three bullets into him, one on the head, one behind the ear and another in the back,” the 26-year-old Human Resource professional from Pune told media a day after the attack on April 22.

These steps come in the wake of the barbaric Pahalgam terrorist attack: India

Wednesday’s ‘Operation Sindoor’ is supposedly a reference to only men being singled out based on their faith before being killed in Pahalgam.

“These steps come in the wake of the barbaric Pahalgam terrorist attack in which 25 Indians and one Nepali citizen were murdered. We are living up to the commitment that those responsible for this attack will be held accountable,” India said in a statement.

In an official statement, the Ministry of Defence confirmed hitting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir “from where terrorist attacks against India have been planned and directed.”

The Ministry of Defence has clarified that Operation Sindoor was “focused, measured, and non-escalatory”. Every effort was made to ensure that only terrorist infrastructure was targeted, avoiding any damage to Pakistani military installations. This strategy was designed to send a firm message while avoiding broader military conflict.

India targets LeT and JeM strongholds

Under Operation Sindoor, the two biggest strikes were conducted in JeM stronghold Bahawalpur and Muridke, killing an estimated 25–30 terrorists at each site. In Muridke, the target was Masjid wa Markaz Taiba, the LeT’s nerve centre and ideological headquarters, which is infamous as Pakistan’s breeding ground of terrorists or “terror nursery”.

Among the facilities targeted under Operation Sindoor were launch pads, training camps, and radicalisation centres operated by Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) — both designated terrorist organisations under United Nations sanctions.

Over 80 terrorists were reportedly killed in a series of attacks carried out by Indian armed forces on terror camps across Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) early on May 7, Wednesday. In the cross-border action, which has been christened “Operation Sindoor”, nine facilities linked to banned terrorist outfits Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), and Hizbul Mujahideen were targeted.

The attacks, which were carried out at 1:44 am. Four of the nine sites were located inside Pakistan, while the remaining five were in POK. However, no Pakistani military installations were targeted.

Around 25 to 30 terrorists were killed at each of the two largest targeted sites, Bahawalpur and Muridke under Operation Sindoor, as per initial reports. However, Indian agencies the number of casualties in the other terror camps are yet to be revealed.

India’s firm message to Pakistan

In an official statement, the Ministry of Defence confirmed hitting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir “from where terrorist attacks against India have been planned and directed.”

The Ministry of Defence has clarified that Operation Sindoor was “focused, measured, and non-escalatory”. Every effort was made to ensure that only terrorist infrastructure was targeted, avoiding any damage to Pakistani military installations. This strategy was designed to send a firm message while avoiding broader military conflict.

India attacks JeM stronghold Bahawalpur and Muridke

Under Operation Sindoor, the two biggest strikes were conducted in JeM stronghold Bahawalpur and Muridke, killing an estimated 25–30 terrorists at each site. In Muridke, the target was Masjid wa Markaz Taiba, the LeT’s nerve centre and ideological headquarters, which is infamous as Pakistan’s breeding ground of terrorists or “terror nursery”.

As per initial assessments, almost 80-90 terrorists were neutralised in these two target areas in the operation. However, the exact number of casualties at the other targeted locations are yet to be disclosed.

Among the facilities targeted under Operation Sindoor were launch pads, training camps, and radicalisation centres operated by Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) — both designated terrorist organisations under United Nations sanctions.

Other JeM-linked locations targeted included Sarjal at Tehra Kalan, Markaz Abbas in Kotli, and Syedna Bilal camp in Muzaffarabad.

Markaz Ahle Hadith in Barnala and Shwawai Nalla camp in Muzaffarabad — both tied to the LeT – were also targeted. Hizbul Mujahideen training centres Makaz Raheel Shahid in Kotli and Mehmoona Joya in Sialkot were among the other targets under Operation Sindoor.

Justice is Served: Indian Army

In a statement released on social media post completion of the strikes, the Indian Army shared a video with the caption “Justice is served”. However, Pakistan has claimed that eight of its civilians, including a child, were killed and called the assault a “blatant act of war”.

Pakistan Retaliates: Three civilians killed

Following Operation Sindoor, Pakistani forces launched heavy cross-border shelling along the Line of Control and International Border in Jammu and Kashmir. Indian officials said that three civilians were killed. Security forces responded and the exchange of fire is going on as per latest reports.

Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General has responded to India’s strike on terror targets in its territory and said in a statement that India’s “temporary pleasure will be replaced by enduring grief”.
Pakistan will respond to it at a time and place of its own choosing, the statement of ISPR read, adding that the strikes by India “will not go unanswered”.

India’s strike comes ahead of Nationwide Mock Drill on May 7

India’s strikes come hours before a planned security mock drill across the country for “effective civil defence in the event of a hostile attack”, across 244 districts. The Union Home Ministry has instructed all states to carry out mock drills in view of the “new and complex threats” that have emerged lately.
The mock drills across the country will be conducted on Wednesday, May 7 to evaluate defence preparedness across India’s rural and urban areas. The mock drill will include air raid sirens, blackout protocols, and public training, with officials urging citizens to keep torches, candles, and cash ready.
