“I have been telling people for the last three months that Nitish Kumar’s psychological and physical condition is so bad that he cannot even name his fellow members of the Council of Ministers. Kishor’s remarks come after Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar publicly referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as (former Prime Minister) Atal Vihari Bajpayee while addressing the audience in Rohtas district in the PM’s presence on Friday. However, Kumar was quick to realise his mistake and in an attempt to cover up the blunder he asked the audience to give a standing ovation to PM Modi for his contributions to the nation.

The longest-serving CM has been facing accusations of being “physically and mentally unfit” following awkward behaviour in public. Opposition leaders, including Bihar CM’s key challenger and RJD MLA Tejashwi Yadav, have questioned his health and suitability to continue governing the state.

Prashant Kishor recently took a jibe at the Bihar chief Minister, following Nitish Kumar’s absence from the recent Niti Aayog meeting. Kishor questioned the CM’s health, cognitive ability, and the political motivations behind his continued leadership. “Nitish Kumar didn’t attend the meeting as he is not physically and medically fit,” Kishor told media recently.

Bihar Assembly Elections 2025

Meanwhile, Bihar is set for the Assembly Elections later this year, which is expected to happen around October-November 2025. After Operation Sindoor, this will be the first election in the country.

Bihar’s top political leaders — Nitish Kumar, Tejashwi Yadav and the new entrant, Jan Suraaj Party chief Prashant Kishor — have started setting the tone for the upcoming elections as suspense grows over seat-share formulas and the chief minister’s face.
