To grasp the wider implications of India’s defence export evolution, India Today’s Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) team analysed governmental data and arms transfer records provided by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI). Their findings reveal that the export footprint extends across at least 23 nations, showcasing a diversification in military equipment beyond previously established flagship systems.

Strategic Agreements and Developments

The recent agreement between India and Indonesia is significant not only for the Astra missile but also for fortifying diplomatic relations with an essential member of the ASEAN bloc under India’s Act East Policy. The Astra Mk1, developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), is India’s first indigenous beyond-visual-range air-to-air missile. Since its induction into the Indian Air Force in 2019, the missile has demonstrated its capabilities against agile aerial targets even under adverse conditions.

भारतीय रक्षा बलों में महिला अधिकारियों की संख्या 2014 के लगभग 3,000 से बढ़कर अब 11,000 से अधिक हो चुकी है। वायु सेना में महिलाओं की हिस्सेदारी सबसे अधिक 13.4% है, जबकि थलसेना में 6.85% और नौसेना में 6% प्रतिनिधित्व है।

तीनों सेनाओं में ऐतिहासिक बदलाव

भारतीय थलसेना अकादमियों में प्रवेश: वर्ष 2022 से राष्ट्रीय रक्षा अकादमी (NDA) में महिलाओं का प्रवेश शुरू हुआ। इसके बाद जून 2026 में पहली बार भारतीय सैन्य अकादमी (IMA), देहरादून से महिला कैडेट्स का पहला बैच पास आउट होकर सेना में कमीशन हुआ है।

स्थाई कमीशन (Permanent Commission): सुप्रीम कोर्ट के 2020 के ऐतिहासिक फैसले के बाद, सेना की 12 विभिन्न शाखाओं (जैसे- इंजीनियर्स, सिग्नल्स, आर्मी एविएशन, इंटेलिजेंस आदि) में महिलाओं को स्थाई कमीशन दिया जा रहा है।

कमान और कर्नल पद: महिला अधिकारियों को अब कमान (Command Appointments) सौंपी जा रही हैं और वे कर्नल (कर्नल सेलेक्ट ग्रेड) रैंक पर प्रमोट हो रही हैं।

सैनिक स्तर पर भर्ती: कॉर्प्स ऑफ मिलिट्री पुलिस (CMP) और टेरिटोरियल आर्मी (TA) में महिलाओं को बतौर जवान/सैनिक भी शामिल किया जा रहा है।

भारतीय नौसेना युद्धपोतों पर तैनाती

महिला अधिकारियों और ‘अग्निवीरों’ को अग्रिम पंक्ति के युद्धपोतों (Warships) पर तैनात किया जा रहा है। महिलाएं अब नौसेना के टोही विमान उड़ा रही हैं और नेवल एयर ऑपरेशंस ऑफिसर के रूप में महत्वपूर्ण ज़िम्मेदारियाँ संभाल रही हैं।

भारतीय वायु सेना लड़ाकू विमान

2015 में शुरू की गई महिला फाइटर पायलटों की प्रायोगिक योजना को 2022 में स्थाई कर दिया गया। अवनी चतुर्वेदी, भावना कंठ और शिवानी सिंह (पहली महिला राफेल पायलट) जैसी अधिकारी अग्रिम पंक्ति के लड़ाकू विमान उड़ा रही हैं। वायुसेना ने महिलाओं के लिए ड्रोन और आरपीए स्ट्रीम भी खोल दी है।

अग्निपथ योजना (Agnipath Scheme): 2022 में शुरू हुई इस योजना के माध्यम से पहली बार महिलाओं को तीनों सेनाओं में गैर-अधिकारी (जवान) रैंक में ‘अग्निवीर’ के रूप में प्रवेश मिला है।

Building a resilient and future-ready military

Officials are seeing this meeting as an important platform to evaluate the new emerging threats and also prepare and make a roadmap for building a resilient and future-ready military. Officials shared that the key discussion points will be around the accelerating indigenisation and strengthening the ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative making innovation and enhancing civil-military collaboration. From next-generation applications developed by armed forces to advanced technologies, during the meeting everything would be explored. It is expected that modern warfare concepts and operational strategies would be discussed. This is seen as India’s commitment to modernising defence capabilities.

What is Operation Sindoor?

Last year on May 7, 2025, Operation Sindoor was launched by the joint campaign of the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, and Indian Navy. During the operation terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) were targeted. For the operation Rajasthan was a strategic position, sharing a border with Pakistan. This is the reason why the anniversary meeting is being held in Jaipur.

In the history of India, Operation Sindoor is considered till date the largest coordinated military actions against cross-border terror infrastructure. As per defence observers this operation was the greatest in terms of coordination planning and execution.

थलसेना, वायुसेना और नौसेना के लिए मल्टी-डोमेन अपग्रेड

विभिन्न प्रकार के प्रस्तावों पर चर्चा की जा रही है, जिससे थलसेना, वायुसेना और नौसेना की परिचालन क्षमता को नई ऊँचाई मिलेगी। रक्षा मंत्रालय के एक अधिकारी ने कहा कि DAC से अनुमोदन मिलने के बाद इन परियोजनाओं को तेजी से लागू किया जाएगा।

114 अतिरिक्त राफेल लड़ाकू विमानों का प्रस्ताव

DAC द्वारा मंजूरी मिलने वाले प्रस्तावों में भारतीय वायुसेना के लिए 114 अतिरिक्त राफेल लड़ाकू विमानों का शामिल होना महत्वपूर्ण है। ये विमान वायुसेना की लड़ाकू क्षमता को बढ़ाने में मदद करेंगे, खासकर जब स्क्वाड्रन संख्या कम हो रही है। राफेल जैसे अत्याधुनिक मल्टी-रोल फाइटर जेट शामिल होने से वायुसेना की स्ट्राइक क्षमता में इजाफा होगा।

नौसेना के लिए P-8I विमानों की खरीद

भारतीय नौसेना की समुद्री निगरानी और पनडुब्बी रोधी युद्ध क्षमता को बढ़ाने के लिए 6 अतिरिक्त P-8I विमान खरीदने का भी प्रस्ताव है। ये विमान हिंद महासागर क्षेत्र में निगरानी और खुफिया गतिविधियों को मजबूत करेंगे। इसके माध्यम से दुश्मन पनडुब्बियों की पहचान करना अधिक सफल होगा। इस कदम से समुद्री मार्गों और रणनीतिक चोक-पॉइंट्स की सुरक्षा भी बढ़ेगी।

स्वदेशी मरीन गैस टरबाइन इंजन पर जोर

DAC स्वदेशी मरीन गैस टरबाइन इंजन विकास कार्यक्रम को भी मंजूरी देने का विचार कर रहा है। 24 से 48 मेगावाट क्षमता वाले इन इंजनों के विकास से भारतीय रक्षा विनिर्माण क्षेत्र में आत्मनिर्भरता को बढ़ावा मिलेगा। विदेशी तकनीक पर निर्भरता कम करके, ये इंजन भविष्य के आधुनिक युद्धपोतों के लिए महत्वपूर्ण होंगे।

क्षेत्रीय सुरक्षा को मिलेगा मजबूती

इन महत्वपूर्ण प्रस्तावों की मंजूरी से भारत की सैन्य ताकत में एक नया अध्याय शुरू होगा। वायुसेना, नौसेना और थलसेना को जबर्दस्त तकनीकी सहायता मिलेगी। इस प्रकार की तैयारियों से दुश्मनों के खिलाफ रणनीतिक संतुलन बेहतर होगा और क्षेत्रीय सुरक्षा को मजबूती मिलेगी।

राष्ट्रपति की अगुवाई में राष्ट्रीय गौरव का उत्सव

गणतंत्र दिवस समारोह की शुरुआत प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी द्वारा राष्ट्रीय युद्ध स्मारक पर शहीद सैनिकों को श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित करने से हुई। इसके बाद राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मू पारंपरिक बग्घी में मुख्य अतिथियों के साथ कर्तव्य पथ पहुंचीं। सुबह 10.30 बजे शुरू हुआ यह समारोह करीब दो घंटे तक चला। ‘वंदे मातरम्’ के 150 वर्ष पूरे होने की थीम ने पूरे आयोजन को देशभक्ति की भावना से सराबोर कर दिया।

ऑपरेशन सिंदूर और अत्याधुनिक हथियारों की गूंज

इस वर्ष की परेड का सबसे बड़ा आकर्षण ‘ऑपरेशन सिंदूर’ में भारतीय सशस्त्र बलों द्वारा इस्तेमाल किए गए हथियारों और प्रणालियों का प्रदर्शन रहा। टी-90 भीष्म टैंक, अर्जुन एमके-1 मेन बैटल टैंक और नाग मिसाइल सिस्टम (मार्क-2) ने कर्तव्य पथ पर सेना की बख्तरबंद ताकत का प्रदर्शन किया। इसके साथ ही आकाश वेपन सिस्टम और अभ्र (ABHRA) मीडियम रेंज सरफेस-टू-एयर मिसाइल सिस्टम ने भारत की वायु रक्षा क्षमताओं को दर्शाया।

वायुसेना, स्पेशल फोर्स और ड्रोन शक्ति का प्रदर्शन

परेड में भारतीय वायुसेना का मार्चिंग कंटिन्जेंट शामिल हुआ, जबकि आसमान में ‘सिंदूर फॉर्मेशन’ ने सभी को रोमांचित कर दिया। इस फॉर्मेशन में दो राफेल, दो सुखोई, दो मिग-29 और एक जगुआर फाइटर जेट ने उड़ान भरी। इसके अलावा स्पेशल फोर्सेस के दस्ते ने अजयकेतु ऑल-टेरेन व्हीकल, रणध्वज रग्ड टेरेन ट्रांसपोर्ट सिस्टम और ध्वंसक लाइट स्ट्राइक व्हीकल के जरिए सेना की त्वरित प्रतिक्रिया क्षमता का प्रदर्शन किया। ड्रोन शक्ति और इंटीग्रेटेड ऑपरेशन सेंटर की झलक ने आधुनिक युद्ध तकनीक में भारत की बढ़त को रेखांकित किया।

राज्यों और मंत्रालयों की झांकियों में दिखी ‘एक भारत, श्रेष्ठ भारत’ की झलक

गणतंत्र दिवस परेड में देश के विभिन्न राज्यों और केंद्र सरकार के मंत्रालयों की आकर्षक झांकियों ने भारत की सांस्कृतिक विविधता और विकास यात्रा को दर्शाया। मणिपुर, छत्तीसगढ़, ओडिशा, उत्तर प्रदेश, मध्य प्रदेश, महाराष्ट्र, गुजरात, तमिलनाडु, केरल, पंजाब, असम और जम्मू-कश्मीर सहित कई राज्यों की झांकियों ने परंपरा, लोककला और आधुनिक विकास का सुंदर संगम प्रस्तुत किया। गृह मंत्रालय, संस्कृति मंत्रालय और सूचना एवं प्रसारण मंत्रालय की झांकियों ने सरकारी पहलों और राष्ट्रीय उपलब्धियों को उजागर किया।

नौसेना की ताकत, हाइपरसोनिक मिसाइल और सम्मान समारोह

भारतीय नौसेना की झांकी में स्वदेशी विमानवाहक पोत आईएनएस विक्रांत को प्रदर्शित किया गया, जो आत्मनिर्भर भारत की रक्षा क्षमता का प्रतीक है। इसके साथ ही डीआरडीओ द्वारा विकसित की जा रही लॉन्ग रेंज एंटी-शिप मिसाइल (LR-AShM) की झलक भी देखने को मिली, जो हाइपरसोनिक तकनीक में भारत की उपलब्धि को दर्शाती है। समारोह के दौरान राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मू ने ग्रुप कैप्टन शुभांशु शुक्ला को अशोक चक्र से सम्मानित किया। रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह ने भी देशवासियों को गणतंत्र दिवस की शुभकामनाएं देते हुए संविधान और सशस्त्र बलों के योगदान को नमन किया।

77वें गणतंत्र दिवस की यह परेड न केवल सैन्य शक्ति का प्रदर्शन थी, बल्कि भारत के आत्मविश्वास, एकता और भविष्य की दिशा का सशक्त संदेश भी थी।

The two-day exercise, which took place on August 7-8, focused on a specialized maneuver known as “Helocasting.” This technique involves troops exiting a low-flying IAF Mi-17 V5 helicopter over a body of water to reach their designated target. The training aimed to sharpen waterborne insertion skills and enhance the interoperability of the forces for securing critical national assets.

The location of the exercise, the Farakka Barrage, is particularly significant. Situated approximately 18 kilometers from the India-Bangladesh border, the barrage is a key piece of infrastructure for regulating the flow of the Ganges River, a subject that has long been a source of tension between the two nations.

By conducting this tri-service exercise in such a sensitive area, the Indian armed forces have signaled their comprehensive readiness to protect key infrastructure and respond to potential threats. A senior military official emphasized the importance of the drill, stating, “This exercise is a testament to the synergy, speed, and precision of our armed forces. It reaffirms that we are fully prepared for all eventualities against all adversaries, in every domain be it in land, sea, or air.”

The seamless coordination and teamwork observed during the training underscored the high level of integration and operational synchronization among the three services, demonstrating a unified and lethal combat capability.
