कैसे हुआ भूमि का अलॉटमेंट?

जब कैप्टन अमरिंदर सिंह मुख्यमंत्री थे, तब चन्नी सांस्कृतिक विभाग के मंत्री थे। उनकी जानकारी के अनुसार, उस समय कई होटल कंपनियों ने इस जमीन के लिए पंजाब सरकार से संपर्क किया था। चन्नी के सीएम बनने के बाद, उन्होंने अनुमति दी और जमीन को लीज पर देने की प्रक्रिया को आगे बढ़ाया। विजिलेंस टीम ने अब इस मामले से संबंधित रिकॉर्ड इकट्ठा कर लिए हैं, जो यह दर्शाते हैं कि कैसे इस जमीन को कम दर पर अलॉट किया गया।

सियासी घमासान की शुरुआत

जून 2023 में मुख्यमंत्री भगवंत मान ने विधानसभा में इस लीज को रद्द करने की जानकारी दी थी। जुलाई में, चन्नी ने विजिलेंस के सामने पेश होकर कहा कि यह जमीन 1987 से पंजाब सरकार के पास है, लेकिन वह इसका उपयोग नहीं कर रहे थे। जबकि उन्होंने कहा कि यह भूमि रेवेन्यू उत्पन्न करने के लिए लीज पर दी गई, वह कम दर पर लीज देने के उचित कारण नहीं बता सके। वहीं, पंजाब कांग्रेस के सीनियर विधायक परगट सिंह ने कहा कि विजिलेंस की कार्रवाई चुनाव के नजदीक होने के कारण की जा रही है, और पिछले 4 साल से अगर सरकार को भ्रष्टाचार की जानकारी थी, तो अब तक कोई कदम क्यों नहीं उठाया गया।
