अवैध संबंध का राज खुला, मां ने बना डाली हत्या की प्लानिंग

नरपतगंज थाना क्षेत्र की रहने वाली पूनम देवी के पति पंजाब में मजदूरी करते थे। उनकी गैरमौजूदगी में उसका रूपेश सिंह नाम के युवक से अवैध संबंध था।

21 जून 2023 को बेटी शिवानी ने दोनों को आपत्तिजनक स्थिति में देख लिया और पिता को सब बताने की बात कही। तभी पूनम ने धमकी देते हुए बेटी को रास्ते से हटाने की योजना बना ली।

पहले जहर, फिर चाकू… मां ने रची क्रूर साजिश

10 जुलाई 2023 को, पति के घर लौटने की खबर से घबराई पूनम ने अपनी 10 साल की बेटी को जहर देने का प्लान अमल में उतारा।

उसने कीटनाशक दवा को मछली में मिलाकर शिवानी को खिला दिया। बेहोश होने पर गले और पेट में कई बार चाकू मारकर उसकी हत्या कर दी।

हत्याकांड को छिपाने के लिए शव को जलावन घर में मकई के ढेर में छिपा दिया और खून साफ कर दिया। बाद में खुद ही लाश “ढूंढने” का नाटक करने लगी।

गवाहों ने खोला सच, कोर्ट ने सुनाई फांसी

पुलिस के सामने पूनम के बयान और मेडिकल रिपोर्ट में बड़ा खुलासा हुआ—विसरा जांच में डिकोलरस नामक जहरीला ऑर्गेनोफॉस्फेट पाया गया, जो कीटनाशक के रूप में इस्तेमाल होता है।

एपीपी प्रभा कुमारी मंडल ने बताया कि अभियोजन ने 2 जनवरी 2024 से गवाह पेश करने शुरू किए और सभी गवाहों ने घटना का पूरा समर्थन किया। बचाव पक्ष ने कम सजा की मांग की, लेकिन अदालत ने अपराध को “रेयर ऑफ द रेयरेस्ट” मानते हुए फांसी की सजा सुना दी।

The teacher, aged 37, had been separated from her husband—a 43‑year‑old college lecturer from Jagatsinghpur—because of ongoing marital discord and claims of domestic abuse. Since May, she had been living with her 14‑year‑old son in a rented accommodation in Nimapara.

Husband, Aides Storm Woman’s Home Over Alleged Affair

Police report that around 8 pm, the lecturer, accompanied by several associates, allegedly forced entry into her residence, believing she was involved with another man. They claim to have found her with her friend, identified as a student leader and teacher.

Disturbing video clips show the husband dragging his wife out of the house, beating her, garlanding her with slippers, and pushing her through the streets while onlookers recorded the events on their phones. The male companion was subjected to similar humiliation: stripped and mocked in public view.

After facing the ordeal, the two were made to walk toward the nearest police station in full public view. The husband repeatedly assaulted the woman as the crowd watched, jeered, and recorded. Her cries for help are audible in the footage.

Husband, Aide Held After Viral Video Sparks Outrage

Following the social media outcry prompted by the viral videos, the Puri Police arrested the husband and one associate. They face charges including unlawful assault and outraging the modesty of a woman.

Authorities have registered a case under relevant sections of law. Investigators have also seized items such as a hammer, garlands, a mobile phone used in recording, and the accused’s motorcycle, which may serve as evidence.

Further investigation is underway. Police say they are examining whether the assault, forced entry, public shaming, and other actions violate laws on sexual harassment, privacy, and public order.
