Reaffirming its commitment to inclusive growth and education-led empowerment, Shree Cement Ltd. has partnered with Fifty Villagers Seva Sansthan, a Barmer-based grassroots NGO dedicated to transforming the lives of underprivileged rural children through education.

Under this partnership, Shree Cement will support 25 underprivileged girls from across Rajasthan through a residential medical entrance coaching program, helping them prepare for NEET and pursue careers in medicine. The company has committed ₹25 lakh per year for two years to the program.

The initiative was formally launched at Kalam Ashram, Barmer, during a ceremony titled “Shree ki Pathshala — Felicitation and Gratitude Ceremony.” The event began with lamp lighting and Saraswati Vandana, followed by performances by the students of Fifty Villagers. Representatives from Shree Cement, along with Dr. Bharat Saran, Founder of Fifty Villagers Seva Sansthan; Smt. Savita Dahia, DFO-Barmer; and several local dignitaries and educators were present.

Speaking on the occasion, Neeraj Akhoury, Managing Director Shree Cement Ltd. said, “At Shree Cement, we have always believed that the most meaningful progress happens when opportunity reaches those who need it the most. Our partnership with Fifty Villagers Seva Sansthan is a deeply meaningful moment for us, as it gives these young women the chance to build lives of dignity, purpose, and pride. Witnessing their determination and discipline gives me the confidence that this will further empower them.”

Founded in 2012 by Dr. Bharat Saran, a government medical officer, the initiative began in a small, rented room where he taught children after hospital hours. Over time, this small act of service became a movement, one that has so far supported 286 students, including 119 admitted to medical colleges, 23 at AIIMS and 52 serving in government roles such as teachers, police officers and Air Force personnel.
These children come from some of Rajasthan’s most remote and underprivileged areas, often facing hunger, long walks to school and limited resources. Despite these challenges, many have excelled academically, scoring over 75% without access to coaching.

In 2023, under the mentorship of Mr. Kamlesh Chandra, an educationist from Bikaner, the initiative expanded by selecting the first batch of 25 students for advanced NEET coaching. That same year, 25 girls from Barmer were chosen. Today, the Barmer campus supports 70 girls, many of them first-generation learners. At the heart of this initiative is Smt. Pushpalata Jha, a dedicated mentor who has built a structured, values-driven residential program. The Gurukulam-inspired campus enables students to study, while developing essential life skills.

Expressing his gratitude, Dr. Bharat Saran, Founder of Fifty Villagers Seva Sansthan, said, “We are deeply thankful to Shree Cement for believing in our mission. This support helps us provide not just education but also hope to rural girls who dream of serving their communities as doctors. Teaching these children has been the purpose of my life and each student’s success gives meaning to the efforts we make.”

The partnership between Shree Cement and Fifty Villagers Seva Sansthan reflects a shared belief, that education is the most powerful tool for empowerment and that true development happens when rural children, especially girls, are given equal opportunities to succeed. Together, they are helping shape a generation of doctors, professionals and changemakers who will carry forward the promise of a stronger, more equitable India.

The city with a royal heritage Jaipur is Rajasthan’s state capital and also the largest city in the state. Popularly known as Pink City, Jaipur attracts tourists from across the globe.

A trip to Jaipur is incomplete without a visit to the grand Amer Fort, Nahargarh Fort and Jaigarh Fort. The majestic Jal Mahal standing on a lake is believed to be founded by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh in the late 18th century to use it as a hunting lodge during his duck shooting trips. Other major tourist attractions in Jaipur include the Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar and City Palace among others.

In 2015, Jaipur was conferred the title of the World Craft City by the World Crafts Council, becoming the only city in the world to have received the title for multiple crafts. Jaipur, in particular, and Rajasthan in general, has seen some successful crafts-based businesses and startups reach scale in the last few decades. What about Corporate Social Responsibility activities happening in and around Pink City? As the year 2023 concludes, let’s take a look at the top CSR projects in Jaipur held in the last one year year.

In FY2022-23, Jaipur emerged as the second largest recipient of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds in Rajasthan. The district successfully garnered Rs. 179.94 Cr. through various CSR initiatives from 433 companies in the last financial year. Notably, Rs. 77.44 Cr, were dedicated to educational initiatives, Rs. 42.48 Cr. to initiatives healthcare initiatives, and Rs. 28.27 Cr. to rural development initiatives. The top three spenders in the district included HDFC Bank Limited (Rs. 24.73 Cr.), ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company Limited (Rs. 17.48 Cr.), and Deutsche India Private Limited (Rs. 5.8 Cr.).

On the occasion of Children’s Day, Delhivery, India’s largest fully integrated logistics service provider, in partnership with the Samarpann , has launched a transformative initiative to uplift educational infrastructure in three government schools across remote villages in Rajasthan. The schools now benefit from sustainable solar power and clean drinking water systems, significantly improving the learning environment for over 80 students. This effort marks a meaningful step toward enhancing educational access and fostering healthier, brighter futures for these children.

For students in rural areas, quality education is often hindered by the lack of essential infrastructure, including reliable electricity and safe drinking water. Delhivery and Samarpann’s new project aims to bridge these gaps by installing 3-kWh solar power systems in each school. These systems provide a stable energy source for lighting, classroom equipment, and other essential facilities, eliminating the dependence on polluting and expensive diesel generators. This move aligns with India’s climate goals while ensuring uninterrupted learning experiences.

Suraj Saharan, Co-founder and Chief People’s Officer, Delhivery, says: “We understand the importance of school education, and contributing to the Indian education machinery forms a key part of our CSR policy. Last year, we partnered with Avanti Fellows to prepare 25 academically bright girls from low-income backgrounds, for competitive entrance exams in the fields of engineering and medicine, over a period of two years. Now through our partnership with Samarpann, we have tried to enhance the classroom experience by provisioning electricity through solar-powered plants, and preventing health disorders by installing drinking water-purification plants. In the current engagement, we did this across 3 government schools in Kota District in Rajasthan. We are also grateful to the state authorities for their guidance and assistance in this project.”

Dr Ruma Bhargava, Founder and Head Samarpann], added: “Health and education are inseparable. Providing clean water in schools is vital for children’s development and academic success. This project serves as a model for sustainable development that we hope can be replicated in other underserved regions.”

Access to clean drinking water is a transformative aspect of this initiative, addressing waterborne illnesses that often cause absenteeism in rural schools. With the installation of water purification systems, students can now stay healthy and focused, boosting both their academic performance and overall well-being. Simultaneously, the project promotes environmental sustainability by reducing energy costs through solar power, fostering a future-oriented approach to rural development.

Beyond immediate benefits, the initiative is sparking a broader impact within communities. By instilling environmental awareness and sustainable practices among students, Delhivery is shaping a generation that values sustainability.
