असम की अंजलि सैकिया बनीं मानवता की मिसाल, NCERT में शामिल हुई उनकी कहानी

असम। दया, करुणा और मानवता की अनगिनत कहानियाँ दुनिया में सुनने को मिलती हैं, लेकिन कुछ घटनाएँ ऐसी होती हैं जो समय बीतने के बाद भी लोगों के दिलों में अमिट छाप छोड़ जाती हैं। असम के नगांव जिले की रहने वाली अंजलि सैकिया की कहानी भी ऐसी ही एक प्रेरणादायक मिसाल है। वर्ष 2009 में उन्होंने अपने छह महीने के बेटे के साथ एक मात्र 15 दिन के घायल और अनाथ एशियन पाम सिवेट (कस्तूरी बिलाव) के बच्चे को अपना दूध पिलाकर उसकी जान बचाई थी। आज, 17 वर्ष बाद, यही सच्ची घटना देशभर के विद्यार्थियों के लिए प्रेरणा का स्रोत बन गई है और NCERT की कक्षा 10 की अंग्रेजी वर्कबुक में शामिल की गई है।

कैसे शुरू हुई यह अनोखी कहानी

साल 2009 में असम के नगांव जिले के कांपुर क्षेत्र के एक गांव में नारियल के पेड़ से लगभग 15 दिन का एक एशियन पाम सिवेट का शावक नीचे गिर गया। उसकी मां का कोई पता नहीं था और वह गंभीर रूप से घायल तथा भूखा था। गांव वालों ने वन्यजीव संरक्षण से जुड़े धरनी सैकिया को इसकी सूचना दी। वे उस मासूम जीव को अपने घर ले आए। घर पहुंचने पर सबसे बड़ी चुनौती उसके भोजन की थी। उस समय धरनी सैकिया की पत्नी अंजलि अपने छह महीने के बेटे गिबोन सैकिया को स्तनपान करा रही थीं। काफी सोच-विचार के बाद उन्होंने वही ममता उस अनाथ वन्यजीव पर भी लुटाने का निर्णय लिया। उन्होंने अपने बेटे के साथ उस सिवेट के बच्चे को भी स्तनपान कराया, जिससे उसकी जान बच गई।

‘भकत’ बना परिवार का सदस्य

परिवार ने उस सिवेट शावक का नाम ‘भकत’ रखा। धीरे-धीरे वह घर का अभिन्न हिस्सा बन गया। वह परिवार के साथ खेलता, बच्चों के साथ सोता, घर में स्वतंत्र रूप से घूमता और सभी का चहेता बन गया। विशेष रूप से गिबोन और भकत के बीच गहरी दोस्ती हो गई थी। दोनों साथ खेलते और एक-दूसरे से अलग नहीं रहते थे। भकत केवल एक पालतू जानवर नहीं रहा, बल्कि परिवार के तीसरे बच्चे की तरह उसकी देखभाल की गई। उसे दूध, फल, चावल, मछली और अन्य उपयुक्त भोजन दिया जाता था, जिससे वह स्वस्थ और मजबूत बन सका।

फिर लौट गया अपने प्राकृतिक घर

करीब कुछ महीनों तक परिवार के साथ रहने के बाद जब भकत पूरी तरह स्वस्थ और आत्मनिर्भर हो गया, तब उसे वापस जंगल में छोड़ दिया गया, ताकि वह अपने प्राकृतिक वातावरण में जीवन व्यतीत कर सके। परिवार के लिए यह भावुक पल था, लेकिन उन्होंने प्रकृति के नियमों का सम्मान करते हुए उसे स्वतंत्र जीवन जीने का अवसर दिया।

डॉक्यूमेंट्री ने पहुंचाई कहानी दुनिया तक

इस अनोखी घटना ने बाद में कई लोगों का ध्यान आकर्षित किया। वन्यजीव और मानव के बीच प्रेम और सह-अस्तित्व की इस दुर्लभ कहानी पर एक डॉक्यूमेंट्री भी बनाई गई, जिसके माध्यम से यह प्रेरक घटना देश और दुनिया तक पहुंची। धीरे-धीरे यह कहानी पर्यावरण संरक्षण और मानवीय संवेदनाओं की मिसाल बन गई।

17 साल बाद मिली सबसे बड़ी पहचान

एशियन पाम सिवेट क्या है?

एशियन पाम सिवेट, जिसे हिंदी में कस्तूरी बिलाव कहा जाता है, एक निशाचर (रात में सक्रिय) स्तनधारी वन्यजीव है। यह मुख्य रूप से फल, छोटे जीव-जंतु, कीड़े-मकोड़े और पक्षियों के अंडे खाता है। भारत के पूर्वोत्तर राज्यों सहित दक्षिण और दक्षिण-पूर्व एशिया के अनेक देशों में यह पाया जाता है। यह जंगलों के पारिस्थितिक संतुलन को बनाए रखने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाता है, क्योंकि यह बीजों के प्रसार में भी सहायक होता है।

बच्चों को क्या सिखाएगी यह कहानी?

गूगल से निकले एक पूर्व कर्मचारी ने अपने करियर के एक महत्वपूर्ण मोड़ पर खड़े होकर AI स्टार्टअप शुरू करने का साहसिक निर्णय लिया है। 41 वर्षीय यूसुफ इमरान ने गूगल में अपने काम के दौरान एक साल में लगभग 1 मिलियन डॉलर, यानी लगभग 9.3 करोड़ रुपये कमाए, लेकिन फिर भी उन्हें कुछ नया करने की तलब थी। उन्होंने खुद को FOMO यानी ‘कुछ छूट जाने का डर’ का सामना करते देखा, जिससे उन्होंने अपने सपनों को पूरा करने का फैसला किया।

नौकरी का बड़ा त्याग

41 वर्षीय यूसुफ इमरान ने Google Cloud में अकाउंट एग्जीक्यूटिव के तौर पर काम करते हुए सालाना लगभग 1 मिलियन डॉलर (करीब ₹9.3 करोड़) की शानदार कमाई की। परंतु, उन्होंने Google की यह सुरक्षित और ऊंचे वेतन वाली नौकरी छोड़कर Mangosteen Studio नामक अपना खुद का AI स्टार्टअप शुरू किया है । उनका यह स्टार्टअप सेल्स प्रोफेशनल्स के लिए AI-संचालित टूल्स बनाता है ।

गूगल छोड़ने का कारण FOMO (Fear of Missing Out)

उन्हें लग रहा था कि वे AI के क्षेत्र में आ रही भारी क्रांति (AI Boom) और उसके जरिए मिलने वाले इक्विटी (स्टॉक) के बड़े अवसरों से चूक रहे हैं। Google में होने वाली छंटनी और जॉब की अनिश्चितता ने उन्हें अपनी खुद की किस्मत आजमाने का हौसला दिया। उनका मानना था कि इतनी मेहनत और क्षमता के साथ यदि वे अपनी कंपनी बनाएंगे, तो उसका मालिकान हक़ और मुनाफा खुद के पास होगा।

स्टार्टअप की तैयारी और फंडिंग

उन्होंने बिना किसी बाहरी निवेशक (Investor) के स्टार्टअप शुरू करने का फैसला किया। नौकरी छोड़ने से पहले उन्होंने अपने निजी खर्चे और स्टार्टअप के लिए करीब $350,000 (करीब ₹2.9 करोड़) की बचत कर के अलग रख लिए थे। वे कोडर (सॉफ्टवेयर इंजीनियर) नहीं हैं, बल्कि उनकी सबसे बड़ी ताकत सेल्स और कस्टमर की समस्याओं की उनकी 20 साल की गहरी समझ है।

AI स्टार्टअप की दिशा में कदम

यूसुफ इमरान ने अपने AI स्टार्टअप के साथ एक नया अध्याय शुरू किया है। उनका लक्ष्य तकनीक के माध्यम से लोगों की जिंदगी को आसान बनाना है। वह मानते हैं कि Artificial Intelligence भविष्य का रास्ता है और इस क्षेत्र में नवाचार का काफी अवसर है। यूसुफ ने कहा कि गूगल में काम करते हुए उन्हें अपनी क्षमता और समस्या समाधान के कौशल को बेहतर बनाने का मौका मिला, जो अब उनके स्टार्टअप में मदद कर रहा है।

सपनों का करें पीछा

यूसुफ इमरान ने अपने अनुभव के आधार पर युवाओं को महत्वपूर्ण सलाह दी है। उन्होंने कहा कि यदि आपके भीतर कुछ करने की भावना है, तो कभी भी अपने सपनों का पीछा करने से न डरें। उन्होंने कहा कि जोखिम लेना जरूरी है, क्योंकि यही जीवन को मजेदार बनाता है। युवाओं को यह समझने की जरूरत है कि असफलताएँ भी एक सीखने का हिस्सा होती हैं।

युवाओं के लिए सलाह

यूसुफ इमरान युवाओं और करियर को लेकर असमंजस में फंसे लोगों को यह सलाह देते हैं कि AI के युग में सिर्फ कोडिंग जानना ही सब कुछ नहीं है। यदि आपके पास किसी विशेष क्षेत्र (Domain Expertise) का मजबूत ज्ञान है, तो AI के जरिए आप भी अपने आइडिया को एक सफल बिज़नेस में बदल सकते हैं। उनका मानना है कि अपना खुद का कुछ बनाने का सबसे सही समय यही है।

फंडिंग और भविष्य की योजनाएँ

यूसुफ ने अपने स्टार्टअप के लिए फंडिंग जुटाने की प्रक्रिया के बारे में भी चर्चा की है। उन्होंने कहा कि पहले चरण में उन्हें निवेशकों से सकारात्मक प्रतिक्रियाएँ मिली हैं। वह आगे बढ़कर अपने विचारों को बड़े पैमाने पर लागू करने की योजना बना रहे हैं। उनकी कोशिश है कि स्टार्टअप के माध्यम से वे ना केवल वित्तीय सफलता हासिल करें, बल्कि समाज में भी सकारात्मक प्रभाव डालें।

अन्य स्टार्टअप्स के लिए प्रेरणा

]]> Every Saturday afternoon in Tamil Nadu’s Tirupparankundram, hundreds of monkeys gather across temple premises and nearby hills in anticipation of the arrival of a 76-year-old woman who has spent years making sure they do not go hungry.

Malathi, a retired police officer from Madurai, has been using a portion of her pension to feed monkeys in the area for nearly a decade. What began as an act of compassion has evolved into a weekly ritual that she says gives her immense happiness and purpose.

Service Continued After Retirement

Retirement in 2010 marked a new chapter for Malathi rather than the end of public service.

Before stepping away from work, she served in several roles, including as Director of Physical Education at Gandhigram University, worked at an international school in Kodaikanal and spent 33 years with the Tamil Nadu Police Department.

Since 2015, however, much of her attention has been devoted to the monkeys living around the Tirupparankundram Murugan Temple and the surrounding hills.

Speaking to ANI, Malathi said she was moved to act after noticing the growing number of monkeys struggling to find food.

“These monkeys live in forested and hilly regions and struggle daily to find food. Around 2015, I noticed the large monkey population in and around Tirupparankundram Murugan Temple and decided to help them. Since then, I have been feeding them regularly,” she said.

Weekly Visits Continue Despite Health Challenges

For many years, Malathi visited the area every day. However, advancing age and health concerns have made daily trips difficult.

“For many years, I visited the area every day. However, I am now 76, and due to health issues, walking long distances has become difficult. Even so, I continue my service every Saturday,” she told ANI.

Every week, she visits six locations around Tirupparankundram, including the temple premises, Saravana Poigai, Palchunaikanda Subramaniam Temple, Mayil Thoppu, also known as Peacock Grove, and the Fort area.

Her arrival is often met by scores of monkeys that appear to recognise her calls.

Hundreds Gather at the Sound of Her Voice

According to Malathi, around 350 to 400 monkeys across the region gather when she arrives each Saturday afternoon.

“There are approximately 350 to 400 monkeys across these locations. Every Saturday at around 3:30 pm, when I call them, they gather for food. At some places, nearly 50 monkeys come at once. Around the Cave Temple, there are about 150 monkeys, while Peacock Grove is home to nearly 200 monkeys,” she said.

She said monkeys of all ages, from infants to adults, turn up for the food she brings.

For Malathi, the weekly exercise has become much more than a routine.

“Serving these animals gives me immense happiness and deep mental satisfaction. Their trust and affection bring great meaning to my life. As long as I am physically able, I will continue this mission. It is my sincere wish to carry on this service until the very end of my life,” she said.

Nearly a decade after she first began feeding the animals, Malathi’s Saturdays continue to revolve around a mission she considers deeply fulfilling.

The inspiration for Kunvar’s venture originated during a community festival in Montgomery County, where he engaged with local farmers. He was surprised to learn that many farmers did not have the tools to effectively determine the health of their crops, largely relying on guesswork. His discussions revealed a widespread issue within the agricultural sector, particularly in the context of advancements in artificial intelligence not adequately meeting the needs of farmers.

Evolution of the Project

Initially, Kunvar envisioned developing a fleet of fully autonomous drones to aid in agricultural assessments. However, upon further research, he recognized that the primary hurdle was the expense associated with high-quality cameras used in such drones. This realisation led him to pivot his approach, focusing on how to achieve similar agricultural insights with more accessible technology. Evion utilizes AI algorithms to analyze photos based on the color and reflectivity of plants, generating a color-coded crop health map that indicates varying levels of plant vitality.

Impact and Reach

Since its inception, Evion has made significant strides in addressing agricultural challenges. The platform has garnered the attention of over 2,000 farmers across both Asia and the United States. With green indicating healthy crops, orange showcasing moderate health, and red signaling stress, the tool offers farmers a practical solution to monitor their crops more effectively. Kunvar’s efforts reflect a commitment to providing accessible technology that empowers farmers with the information necessary to make informed agricultural decisions.

हाई स्कूल छात्र अर्जुन कुलकर्णी पढ़ाएंगे MIT में AI

दुनिया के सबसे प्रसिद्ध तकनीकी संस्थानों में से एक मासाचुसेट्स इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ टेक्नोलॉजी (MIT) में एक अनोखा और प्रेरक मामला सामने आया है। भारतीय मूल के हाई-स्कूल छात्र अर्जुन कुलकर्णी को MIT में आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस (AI) का फॉर-क्रेडिट कोर्स पढ़ाने के लिए चुना गया है। यह उपलब्धि इसलिए खास है क्योंकि अर्जुन अभी कॉलेज में भी नहीं पढ़ते, बल्कि हाई-स्कूल के छात्र हैं। MIT में आमतौर पर ऐसे कोर्स अनुभवी प्रोफेसर पढ़ाते हैं, लेकिन अर्जुन की प्रतिभा और ज्ञान को देखते हुए संस्थान ने उन्हें यह विशेष जिम्मेदारी सौंपी है।

AI और शोध में मजबूत पकड़

अर्जुन का काम केवल पढ़ाई तक सीमित नहीं है। उन्होंने-

]]> In a rare display of professional integrity and strict adherence to protocol, a Booth Level Officer (BLO) in West Bengal’s Katwa has made headlines for serving official hearing notices to his wife and himself.

Debshankar Chattopadhyay, who serves as the BLO for Booth No. 165, proved that the law remains impartial even within the walls of one’s home. Mr. Chattopadhyay, a school teacher by profession, resides in the Chowrangee area of Katwa’s Ward 10 while working at a primary school in Ketugram.

Identifying the Discrepancies

The situation arose during a routine verification of voter data. The Election Commission’s system flagged “logical discrepancies” in the records of both Mr. Chattopadhyay and his wife, Anindita Chowdhury.

For Mr. Chattopadhyay: A spelling error was identified in his father’s surname in the official records.

For Mrs. Chowdhury: The system flagged a significant age gap of 50 years between her and her father (originally from Nakashipara, Nadia), which required formal verification.

Integrity Over Influence

As soon as the notices appeared on the Election Commission’s official app, Mr. Chattopadhyay did not hesitate to perform his duty. He printed the notices and served them to his wife and himself, treating his own family no differently than any other citizen under his jurisdiction.

“As a BLO, I am duty-bound to follow the Election Commission’s regulations,” Mr. Chattopadhyay stated. “My family does not get special treatment. In the eyes of the law, everyone is equal.”

His wife, Anindita, expressed surprise but supported her husband’s decision. “This is his professional responsibility. Whatever he has done is strictly by the book,” she remarked.

Administrative Praise

The incident has garnered significant respect within the local administration. Katwa Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Anirban Bose lauded the move, noting that being a BLO does not exempt one from the rules.

The couple will now have to stand in line and participate in the hearing process alongside other residents to rectify their voter information, setting a powerful example of transparency in public service.

]]> At least 16 people have been killed in a mass shooting incident at Bondi Beach in Australia’s Sydney on Sunday. Furthermore, at least 40 injured have been taken to hospitals across Sydney, as stated by New South Wales Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon. One of the two shooters involved in the firing incident is also among the dead, according to reports. While the second suspect has been identified as Naveed Akram.

However, the lives that were saved are now grateful to one brave person named Ahmed al Ahmed, a common man! Being hailed as ‘Bondi Beach hero’, 43-year-old Ahmed al Ahmed is a fruit seller by profession who was passing through the area when the terror attack began.

Ahmed’s video confronting terrorist viral

The shooting began around 6:47 p.m. local time near a park where a “Chanukah by the Sea” event was taking place. The incident lasted for about 10 minutes, with bystanders and police responding heroically. Improvised explosive devices were also found in the attackers’ car but failed to detonate.

As it can be seen in a now viral video, an assailant was shooting visitors at Bondi beach indiscriminately from behind a tree. Suddenly, Ahmed appeared from behind at the right time and grabbed the assailant’s gun. The assailant, realising that he was being cornered, fled. As the attacker retreated, Ahmed wasted no time to place the gun against a tree and raise his hands to ensure the law enforcement didn’t mistake him for a villain, as per media reports.

However, at that very moment, Ahmed was injured by another assailant’s gun. He is currently receiving treatment in the hospital. From the moment the scene of the murder on Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia, went viral on social media, fruit vendor Ahmed Al Ahmed is being hailed as a hero. Many lives were saved in Sydney thanks to Ahmed’s quick decision making and bravery.

Ahmed has never held a gun in his life

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese praised Ahmed for what he did during the horrific terror attack on Bondi Beach on Sunday. A man named Mustafa, who identified himself as Ahmed’s cousin, told the media, “He (Ahmed) is now in the hospital. We just want him to get better. He’s a hero to us now.”

Ahmed’s family told the Australian media that Ahmed has never held a gun in his life. He was passing by at the time of the incident. Suddenly, he ran after hearing the sound of gunfire. Ahmed went to stop the assailants after seeing them shooting at the crowd. He underwent surgery at the hospital on Sunday night.

A video of Ahmed, 43, showing his bravery in stopping the assailants has gone viral on social media. The 57-second video shows the assailant standing behind a tree and firing one shot after another with a long gun. He was wearing black clothes. There were cars parked behind the tree. Ahmed suddenly walked towards the gunman with bare hands from behind the car. The gunman did not see him as he coming from behind. Ahmed grabbed him from behind and snatched the gun. He struggled with the gunman for some time. Later, the assailant fled. Ahmed also pointed his gun at him as the assailant fled. But he did not shoot. After that, Ahmed was hit by two bullets.

Bondi Beach terror attack

On Sunday, December 14, 2025, a mass shooting targeting the Jewish community at a Hanukkah event occurred at Bondi Beach, Sydney, Australia. The attack resulted in the deaths of 15 people and injured over 40 others. On Monday, the death toll climbed to 16.

The 15 victims ranged in age from 10 to 87 years old and included a British-born rabbi and a Holocaust survivor. Two police officers were also among the dozens injured. The attack has been officially declared an act of terrorism and antisemitism by the Australian Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, and NSW Police Commissioner. Reports indicate the attackers pledged allegiance to the Islamic State group, and IS flags were found in their car.

The perpetrators were identified as a father and son duo: Sajid Akram, 50, and Naveed Akram, 24. Sajid Akram was shot and killed by police at the scene, while Naveed Akram is in critical condition in the hospital under police guard. The older man was a licensed firearms holder for recreational hunting, which allowed him to possess the firearms used in the attack.

PM Modi condemns terror attack in Australia

Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly condemned the ‘ghastly terrorist attack’ which he said targeted people celebrating the first day of the Jewish festival of Hanukkah. “On behalf of the people of India, I extend my sincere condolences to the families who lost their loved ones. We stand in solidarity with the people of Australia in this hour of grief. India has zero tolerance towards terrorism and supports the fight against all forms and manifestations of terrorism,” PM Modi wrote on X.
