चौथे राउंड की समाप्ति तक

जन सुराज के प्रशांत किशोर को 3,795 से अधिक वोट मिल चुके हैं और वे भाजपा के नीरज कुमार सिन्हा से 1,145 वोटों की मजबूत बढ़त बनाए हुए हैं। पार्टी के युवा चेहरे नीरज कुमार सिन्हा लगातार पिछड़ रहे हैं। राष्ट्रीय जनता दल (RJD) की उम्मीदवार रेखा गुप्ता (रेखा कुमारी) इस त्रिकोणीय मुकाबले में बहुत पीछे छूट गई हैं और तीसरे नंबर पर सिमट कर रह गई हैं। यह रुझान महज कुछ हजार वोटों का अंतर नहीं, बल्कि बिहार की उस ‘पारंपरिक जातिवादी राजनीति’ के ढहने का संकेत है, जिसे प्रशांत किशोर अपनी पदयात्रा के दौरान लगातार चुनौती दे रहे थे।

बीजेपी के गढ़ में सेंध: क्यों इस सीट की हार-जीत राष्ट्रीय मुद्दा है?

He emphasised a commitment to rallying support from party members and the public.

Abhishek Kumar Sinha, before his exit from the race, made a public announcement regarding his decision. He reiterated his dedication to the party while expressing regret about his inability to contest. In a letter submitted to the Bihar BJP president, he conveyed gratitude for being selected as the NDA candidate and expressed his desire to continue serving the party.

In addition to the Bankipur seat, the BJP announced Ashutosh Tiwari as its candidate for the Datia Assembly by-election in Madhya Pradesh. The Election Commission of India revealed the timetable for bypolls across three constituencies in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat, including key seats such as Bankipur, Datia, and Manjalpur. Candidates have until July 13 to file nominations, with scrutiny occurring on July 14 and the option to withdraw candidatures available until July 16. Voting is scheduled for July 30, and vote counting will take place on August 3.

The by-elections have been necessitated due to various political developments in each of the respective states. In Bihar, the Bankipur constituency has remained vacant since March 30, 2026, following the resignation of its previous member, Nitin Nabin.

In Gujarat, the Manjalpur seat needs to be filled following the death of Yogeshbhai Narandas Patel on June 2, 2026. The ECI has initiated the by-poll to ensure the continuity of representation for the constituents.

Similarly, in Madhya Pradesh, the Datia seat became vacant as a result of the disqualification of Rajendra Bharti on April 2, 2026. This disqualification was enacted under Section 8 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, in conjunction with Article 191(1)(e) of the Constitution of India.
