										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<h4>In a shocking incident at the Prince Bijay Singh Memorial (PBM) Hospital in Bikaner, five women suffer kidney failure after child birth. This incident has raised concerns on maternal healthcare, this incident follows the maternal death cases in Kota.</h4>
<h4>The report states, 10-15 days after the delivery, the health of women started declining, raising concerns among the authorities and state government. Currently all five women have been admitted in ICU and are undergoing dialysis treatment. Among the four patients, one 20-year-old woman from Phalodi is in critical condition and is on ventilator support.</h4>
<h1>Rajasthan Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar Reviews Incident</h1>
<h4>Immediately after the incident happened, Rajasthan Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar took a high-level review meeting at Swasthya Bhawan in Jaipur on Tuesday. This meeting was attended by all the Senior officials of the Medical and Health Department, and Khimsar has asked for a detailed report of the incident. While addressing the media, Khimsar said that the cases in Kota and Bikaner are two separate cases and two should not be linked. In Bikaner cases, women underwent both Caesarean and normal deliveries, unlike Kota cases. The preliminary medical findings revealed that all the women had urinary retention, infections, low platelet counts, and kidney failure. The Superintendent of PBM Hospital Dr. B.C. Ghiya said that complications during pregnancy are common, however, the sudden increase in cases in the past week has raised concerns. “We have assigned a team of specialists to monitor the patients,” Ghiya noted.</h4>
<h4>He even added that the hospital administration has formed a committee consisting of senior doctors who will investigate the root cause of the complications, including infection, excessive bleeding, and other medical factors. “We will submit the findings to the state government.”</h4>
<h1>Families Allege Lack of Information</h1>
<h4>Family members of the patients have complained of not being informed about the condition of their women. The Health Minister has directed officials to make sure that the best medical facilities are being provided and administrative injury into the case. Currently, there is no such evidence to back the medical negligence; however, Khimsar has asked for strict action in case any lapse is identified.</h4>
<h4>Emphasizing on the strengthening of the infection-control systems, Khimsar said the hospital needs to improve the monitoring mechanisms, and make sure the treatment protocols are being followed. &#8220;The government is closely monitoring the situation, and there will be no compromise in patient care,&#8221; Khimsar said. He also urged the public to rely only on verified information related to this case.</h4>
