“GIVE WAY FOR AMBULANCE” IS A BANNER AWARENESS PROGRAM PLANNED AT VARIOUS IMPORTANT PLACES IN THE CITY SUCH AS TRAFFIC JUNCTIONS, PETROL PUMPS ETC.

The intention of this awareness drive is to educate people and help them understand how to react on such emergency situations.According to Dr. Rita Savla, “After studying the international standards on Ambulance rules, as a conscious citizen, we carried out a research to understand the reason of why people are not giving way to Ambulance. In the process we realized that they were not aware how to react in such situation, either to go left or right or drive fast or slow. They should be aware that in such  circumstances one should “Move to Left and Drive Slow”. Even the ambulance driver is not aware that they are suppose to drive in right lane only and not in zigzag manner to get the way”.

Commenting on the occasion Mr. Pravin Puntambekar, Senior VP, Shriram Transport said, “Ambulance is a most important mode of transportation in saving lives of critical patients but every day in Mumbai around 900 ambulances or fire brigade vehicle get stuck in traffic as their average speed of the vehicle is a mere 12-15 km/hour.  Shriram Transport Finance believes in supporting for a cause and thus agreed to be part of the program”.
