Bajaj V by Bajaj Auto launched an initiative titled ‘Invincible Indians: Stories that Invoke Pride Everyday’ on Tuesday. The initiative aims to uncover stories of ordinary Indians who by their resolve and determination performed extraordinary acts in the service of society.

In the initial phase, five Indians from different parts of India were felicitated in Mumbai by Abhinav Bindra, India’s first individual Olympic Gold Medalist.

These five Invincible Indians are:

  1. Chewang Norphel: He created 15 artificial glaciers in Ladakh to solve the perennial water crisis. He was awarded a Padmashree in 2015.
  2. Bipin Ganatra: He helped rescue people from more than 100 fires in Kolkata. He is recognised as a volunteer firefighter by the Kolkata Fire Department.
  3. Omkar Nath Sharma: He travels across the NCR area in Delhi to collect medicines from people who no longer need them and distributes it to clinics and hospitals who serve the poor.
  4. Vijaylaxmi Sharma: Merely 22 years old, Sharma leads a movement to eradicate child marriages Rajasthan villages.
  5. Karimul Haque: Converting his bike into an ambulance, Haque offers a 24X7 ambulance service free of cost.

Bindra said, “We live in a time where there is a lot of negativity around us. Such doses of positive inspiration are needed to keep us motivated to do good every day.”

Taking about the platform to recognise such efforts, Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director, Bajaj Auto said, “Efforts and stories of these individuals make us feel proud and are truly an inspiration for all of us. We aim to honour more such people contributing in an exemplary way towards the society.”
