Ajuba Launches ‘GRAM SEVA’ Initiative For Addressing The Concern Of Food Wastage

Addressing the concern of food wastage, Ajuba Solutions, a healthcare revenue cycle management company launched ‘GramSeva’ initiative in Chennai. The programme aims to educate and create awareness about the issue of food wastage and its effects.

GramSeva initiative was conceived as a result of understanding, that food wastage alone costs trillions of rupees in losses to global economy. At a time when parts of the country is facing the issue of malnutrition related deaths, continued deluge of food seems to stand out as a sin. The company believes that issue of food wastage has not been recognized or taken seriously by the global population.

GS5-300x225The project aims at the company educating its employees on the impact of food wastage and to spread awareness by engaging at grassroot level. The programme has been designed to help people understand the efforts that go behind each plate of food that reaches ones table. This cannot be understood by mere observation, but by action.

The programme was spread across two days with shortlisted employees participating in the pilot project. Vadakupattu village in Thiruvanamalai District was shortlisted for this initiative. Employees were divided into sub teams to handle logistics, safety & security, in addition each being actively involved in agriculture process.

The company intends to make this initiative a long term focus under its social responsibility programme. This initiative will be adopted in phases, involving as many employees as possible, across various villages in and around the city.
