Households headed by senior citizen have a poverty ratio of 20.0% as per the estimate of the Planning Commission. India has very little social security in place for senior citizens. Pension coverage is as low as 11% of the entire workforce. About 65% of the aged in India depend on others for their day-to-day maintenance. Dignity Foundation supports indigent senior citizens in Mumbai, Bengaluru and Pune by providing a month’s worth of basic dry provisions to the very poor senior citizens who cannot fend for themselves.
Dignity Foundation, an NGO works for the cause of senior citizen in India. The NGO provides, among other services, Loneliness Mitigation Services and Ration supplies for indigent senior citizens. Dignity Helpline, Counselling, will making, alternative housing, dementia care – day care and residential – are key forms of assistance rendered.
StudyMall that will provide both academic and non-academic educational infra-structure to rural children. This will help village childern in their better education. Rural education system in India is inadequate compare to urban education, We Thinksharp Foundation team all come from rural areas and we are very much aware of this problem. There is lack of better place to sit after and during school for study, poor infrastructure in schools, Libraries are either absent or are at long distances. Extra academic books, career material, computer, discussion platform etc is not available for rural children.

This eco friendly venture was started by a family of doctors with a vision to set up micro enterprises for the women in rural Karnataka and simultaneously create an environmental product – Arecanut Leaf Plate – to replace use of the disposable plastic, thermocol paper plates and dinnerware that pollute the environment.
